I recently purchased a Tamiya TNX 5.2. I love the truck. Lots of power, really nice. But I have an issue. The front diff drive shaft cup pin keeps coming out and hitting on the bottom of the chassis plate. Its gonna cause some major problems if it continues. I have re-tightened the snap ring and I even put some shrink tube over the pin but it still came out. Has anyone else had this problem?? What was your solution??

Does the snap ring move around on you?

All I could think to do would be to clean the shaft, the hole in the shaft where the pin goes and the holes in the cup and the pin with DA, then apply some tough glue or jb weld to the pin and the holes then put it together and let it cure. I'd also put the snap ring on and apply JB to it to keep it from moving. You can always punch it out with a hammer and a small punch, but it might help keep it together.

I just downloaded the manual to see if I could help... I can't believe they depend only on a snap ring to keep it in there. Most have at least a set screw or the pin itself screws into the cup on one side.

Well that's the thought I had too. But a friend at work sugested a roll pin. Sooo I found a roll pin and pressed it in last night. I think it will work because it is in there VERY tight. My only concern is that the pin is hollow, so I'm not sure of its strength. As to the design of just a snap ring to hold in a pin at those rpm's, not too bright in my opinnion. Especially considering the damage that could be done by the pin hitting on the chassis plate at high speed.

Thanks for the advice!! I really appreciate it!!
