My question is how do you know what TMaxx version you have?what is the difference between a 2.5,2.5r,2.5 stretch, 3.3 or 3.3 stretch.I need to buy a new body and have no idea what I have.I have 3 trucks one is a Revo the other two are TMaxx .One is a little longer but I don't know if it is a 2.5 or 2.5 stretch or 3.3.or what it is,if it helps I tried a HPI Savage 4.6 big block body on it and it was long enough but the rear body mount holes were way to short from reaching the rear body mounts.Id also like to know what the model numbers are. Thanks in advance

The Original narrow Maxx was model 4910, then came the 2.5 Maxx also model 4910.
Next was the 2.5R Maxx model 4902. Then the 1st 3.3 model was the 4909 model. And then there is the TMaxx classic which is also a model 4910.
All of the above were the standard short chassis and can easily be identified as being short by the cutout in the chassis for the reverse servo as all of them came equipped with reverse.
There have been only (2) 3.3 extended chassis versions, models 4908 and 4907. Neither have the hole for the reverse servo in the chassis, and the front of the chassis is tapered/angled across the front unlike the previous short chassis versions which are more straight across at the front.
Posting clear pics of your rig is the best way to identify the model # due to the many small differences.

What is the model number of the tmaxx that had the 3.3 but had the short chassis. My buddy has one he bought new, chassis is same length as my 2.5 tmaxx truck.

Thanks Snook:D Thinking about purchasing it from him he only wants $50.00 for it. Started break in process, started having problems gave up on it prob only has like 4 tanks run through it.:D

I uploaded some pic's if someone can tell me what model t-maxx I have.

You have an aftermarket extended (in the rear, not the front like a stock extended chassis. You would need the extended chassis version stock body, but a stock body with the body mount holes already cut would need adjusted (new holes cut) to fit it just right. Its best to purchase a pro-line type body that doesn’t have the mounting holes cut and you can place them where you want.
Your rig most likely started life as a 4909 model and then was upgraded.
The engine looks like an ofna .21

The engine is a Picco.21

Thank You So Much Snook !!!!

I am running the same engine in my old 2.5 revo, that engine is a beast. Runs even better with a big block pipe on it.

What kind of pipe do you use?

I love it when it hits it's power band and it just comes alive and the rear end squats down and the tires really dig in.When my other trucks lose ther motors I will replace them with a picco max .26.

I had a picco .21 thats why i asked. It sat awhile and the o-rings were bad in carb. Couldnt find rebuild kit anywhere.

O rings are commercially available, all you need is the size and you can find some

That chassis is an aftermarket upgrade on the pics of the truck you own. I had a chassis identical to that. From the pics it does look like it has a extended rear skid. I know way back dace made a alum block to extend the older tmaxx. I can't tell if yours has it though. I can tell you those Picco .21 engines are a beast. I have tore out more driveline parts than I care to replace on my Revo running the same engine. One of my friends had a Picco .26 on his Maxx and my Picco .21 would blow it away.

Took another look at the truck pics. I don't think that is an extended chassis, looks to be same lenght as a stock 4909 tmaxx chassis.

I gave up looking after couple months. Even called the factory. Sold it back to lhs for what i paid for it. Bought a 3.3. Nice..

I have a 4909 2.5 with a Picco max .21 motor and proline Suburban shelf body that I don't run.The chassis has been completely rebuilt.I did run it one time and that Picco Maxx .21 is a monster of power,it ran great.I put the body back on and it sits one the shelf. The body has not been cut.I was going to keep it to make it all pretty but I already have 3 trucks so I'm going to sell it or trade it.
