I've recently finished a deal to buy a stock used 2.5 tmaxx and am wondering what upgrades all of you recommend. I am going to put dynamite .19 engine in but that's about all I have planned to do so any suggestions are welcome. Anything that will make my tmaxx better or just anything that is fun to do is what I'm looking for. so thanks in advance.

In the upper right hand corner of your screen is a box, this box is called "search", try it you may like it. It's full of useful info!.....

I already did before i posted this thread. I found very few things and it was far between. Besides drivetran and the clutch I have found no useful info so yeah.

Upgrading your rc is personal preference, you can't expect anyone to tell you what to buy or how to make it look. The search tab if used properly will point you in the direction you want to go, I love helping out and so does everyone on this site but every noob starts the same way, "what upgrade should I do".
In the past 2 weeks I have seen 3 new posts asking the same thing, I just did a search on "upgrades" and found a bunch of threads.
They all say to use rpm on the corners and if you want aluminum down the middle and a .21 pico is a direct drop in for the tmaxx...

I agree with the above statement of no one can tell you how to make your truck look and what upgrades because everyone has a different opinion. But what i can recommend for that dynamite.19 is the resonated pipe. I have the same setup on my tmaxx and I'm very impressed with that engine and pipe. Also i can recommend staying with plastic a-arms and maybe going with aluminum bulkheads and carriers. As far as anything else you will learn exactly what you want to upgrade as you go. Then you can ask opinions on what brands of parts to go with. Good luck with your rig and i know you will enjoy the dynamite engine.

Okay thank you. I'll do some more digging around. Also could you tell me the names of some of these threads that already asked my question.

Probably just type "what upgrades should i do" into the search box and find them. I'm using tapatalk right now on my iphone so it isnt an option for me.

Why dont we just tell him what are some good upgrades, and let him search for some as well....

I did Golden Horizon aluminum bulkheads, chassis braces, shock towers and then went with RPM a arms, skid plates and then left the other smaller plasitc pieces stock plastic.

You will find that the best set up is to have a strong aluminum "core" and then have some flex in the other places at the same time (ie: RPM arms).

Well in that case i did the 3.3 4907 extended chassis upgrade and 3.3 transmission and a-arms as well pretty much turned the 2.5 4910 into a 3.3 4907 body and all. New 3.3 electronics boxes and hitech steering servo and a 2075 on throttle brake. New 4907 wheels and tires. Its a totally new and much better truck now with the .19T engine. Very fast also.

In addition to what I have below, there are the standard upgrades, RPM arms, Lunsford turnbuckles, and aluminum bulkheads. You can get great deals on Ebay, they have chop shops that take new trucks and part them out.
Here are a few things that you could knock out for pretty cheap.

2.4ghz radio system
Stronger steering servo (200+ oz/in, with around .15 for speed)
17mm hexes
Better tires
replace the AAs with aa quality hump pack

Don't forget a good set of big bore shocks and a set of off set rims to limit roll overs.
And the one thing I found very beneficial, tonys screw kit, with all the parts your going to replace, a quality screw kit is golden.......

Thank you all of you. I wasn't looking for what I should do more like what is popular and will improve the truck the most. Guess I worded it wrong. Thanks again.

And Big Bores (for softer landings on those big jumps), Hump pack (So you dont have to mess around with those darn AA rx batteries), and 2.4 tx/rx (For improved range and no more glitching) will improve your overall Tmaxx experience. The other upgrades are for added strength. One thing I did to my maxx almost right away was install the Forward Only Conversion (FOC) kit and it made a huge difference in the reliability, durability and performance of the transmission (for only $12 it was well worth it!!)

These are things that I felt improved the Tmaxx the most.
