Tmaxx stalls

Ran the maxx today and was working on retuneing the carb from factory settings because i just put in a new aluminum clutch. I have the hsn set to t5 turns out and it runs great with the exception that when i come to a stop after highspeed runs it will die after about 5 mins of running. I have my idle screw set pretty high so i dont think that is it. Could it be that my lsn is to rich? Possibly overheating? It doesn't show any signs of overheating and its got about 1 gallon of fuel through after break in and a fairly new glow plug.

It only does this after about 5-10 mins of running when it gets all the way warmed up and only after full throttle blast. Dont have a heat gun to check the temp but when its hot water will sizzle on top of the head for a few seconds until it evaps.

A rich lsn wouldn't cause over-heating. It would cause the opposite. What's your temps hitting? Is there considerably less pinch once the engine is warmed up? This would indicate a worn out engine. Has the engine been sealed? An air leak could cause over-heating, even at rich settings.

only 1 gallon through the engine so i dont thinik its worn and i really dont think its overheating since it doesn't show any signs of it getting to hot. It just likes to shut off after a full throttle blast but not after every full throttle blast.

How are you checking the temp? Does it start right back up, or do you have to wait a minute or so? Engines can be killed with way less than a gallon of fuel, too.

no it starts up pretty easy been using the water sizzle method doesn't burn off right away but will sizzle for a few seconds

Does it only stall when the brakes are applied? Being that you installed a new clutch, the linkage to the throttle could have been thrown off a little if you removed the servo horn. It's common for the carb to be pushed closed just enough tho choke off the engine when braking, from what I recall it happens after a few good runs back and forth after it's warmed up.

Sounds like you may just be a hair lean. As long as the engine's blowing smoke and hitting the top end good, you may just want to richen the lsn a hair. 1/16 of a turn, then drive around for awhile and see how it reacts. If it gets worse, you know to go the other way.
