tmaxx red function light stays on?!?!

okay red function light stays on but steering works and i have servo #'s 2018 and 2055 for my gas/brake and forward/reverse. are those #'s the right ones for my truck maby thats why that light stays on.

OR

some wires are shaved or cut but i can't see it any where I've checked.

optidrive sensor is pooched but i dout it

last time i drove it worked good then throttle didnt work 20 seconds later it worked then it cut out and never came back... oh and since i charged my hump pack thanx guys

It sounds like you need to reprogram the optidrive. You can find out how at the www.traxxas.com knowledgebase.

Get rid of that opti drive, plug the servo directly into the rx and check for bare wires.

i called the dealer. He said it went into 'failsafe" mode, where the shifting and brake servo's dont respond. He said carge the hump back, i did and it still wont respond to the two new servos

check your connections, are you batteries in your radio dead?
Another thing that can happen is possible the wire is broken off of your reveiver on the truck

yup i put new energizer's in the radio,um there is one spot where i can see the copper wire, but its such a small spot i dont think in would affect it. I might be wrong. Also maby i should have a look ti where the wires go into the tranny. Behind the little cover, its a sensor i belive.

i had this problem too when i first started and it was driving me mad, it goes into failsafe mode when there isnt enough charge in the batterys and it drops below a certain voltage( unsure what the correct voltage is), which is anoying cos you have your batteries fully loaded ready to bash or race, i had a nick in one of my wires so i got a new part traxxas part 3034 for £3 in the uk, i would definately give this part a go first as my steering would work the same way you are describing, good luck mate and let us know how you get on

Do a search on here on the optidrive. It's useless weight. As long as you don't shift your rig while it's moving, there isn't a problem. Most people ditch reverse along with it. A forward only conversion is usually the first mod that people make to Maxx's because it's the best cheap, performance upgrade. Quicker, smoother acceleration and a way stouter tranny.

haha i fixed it, i took out the optidrive.ya ill make sure the machine is stopped when i shift
