I think my truck is running pretty well.... but no matter what I do i can't seem to get the idle LOW enough (w out stalling) to keep the truck from rolling forward on its own while not aplying throttle.

In the grass its fine..... but on pavement if I dont hold the brake.... its gonna roll away on me.... and gain speed.

Could my clutch spring be weak? It looks fine......

I just got a 2.5 (older tmaxx) and it may be a WHOLE NOTHER ANIMAL....but it idles better and sits still.

I may just throw an integy 3 piece clutch at it to see what happens.....

yeah my clutch spring just broke and i jus got my truck this past saturday! so I'm goin with the integy clutch myself, but my idle kinda does what your talkin about like it doesn't go fast forward but right after it starts it creeps jus a little til i hit the brake then it will jus sit there like it should! i had to play with my LSN to get it to the point it is now so i would say jus keep playin around with the needles, but I'm a noob myself so I'm in no position to give advice jus yet, I'm learnin though!

Could be a weak spring or your LSN needs tuned a bit better to let the idle drop more. If it's too rich, you have to idle high to keep it running. If it's too lean, your idle goes from running reasonably high to off with very little adjusting of the idle screw.

I'm fairly certain the traxxas uses the same shoes/spring on the newer maxx/revo as the older maxx. Mine looked the same anyway on my 2.5 revo and jato.

Maybe try the MIP shoes that have two holes and use the holes further from the end where the pin goes. Gives it less weight to swing out on you as it makes the shoes engage at a higher RPM.

I just picked up a used Maxx yesterday. It was doing the same thing so first thing I did was check the clutch spring. It had broke and wasn't holding the shoes in at low RPM, causing it to "pull" and stall out when I hit the brake. Changed the spring and all cleared up, I used a new stock Traxxas clutch setup.

If you think your tuning is right, that is definitely the next thing.

Good luck :D
