my son was running one of my t maxx's today when a heard a grinding sound so i pulled tranny off and apart {first time doing this] and i discovered the problem2 teeth stripped on the 38 tooth gear, not sure which one that is and one other dual toothed gear completly shredded dont know where to get these and also isnt there supposed to be some sort of gear lube in there too ?:\

Parts should be available at any hobby shop, or ebay. I tend to buy most parts off ebay. No lube though. I have used Dupont bearing lube in the trans bearings. seems to run shift smoother with the dupont lube.

You've stripped the primary gears, it's very common. Usually the small first gear on the input shaft is the first to go.

I looked at the link and ues thats the parts i need

Does anyone make s stronger gear set? Alsowas thinking about changing the trucks drive gears to something a little lower for short course racing.any suggestions?

This is probably the best gears you will find.

If you still run reverse i would remove it and install the FOC kit. The reverse gears have and always will be the weakest link in the trans, when removed, your trans will have less rotational mass and will give you better performance over all.

You can choose between close, wide or standard gear ratio. All ratios are found on the site.

The stock first gear won't break unless you have a huge engine behind it, but they do wear out.
For lowering the ratio, your only first gear options are to run a bigger spur, smaller clutch bell, or both. For second gear you can get the close ratio or standard ratio set.
