I currently use integy piggyback shocks and they offer very little control of the truck. I think they are too stiff. Is there a better shock/spring combination that anyone here has used that offers great racing control without being too soft. I thought that the sock ones were too soft. It was like the truck was too heavy for the stock ones, that's why I bought the Integy replacements.

OR is ity better to take out the oil and put in oil with a lower number. I'm using 40 in the Integy ones now.

Any thought/advice appreciated

you should have just tried stiffer springs and maybe a thicker oil with the stock shocks. You can pick up some traxxas big bores and get a couple different rate springs to try...

Shocks are just for the control of bounce and up and down motion of the wheel.
Support is from the springs.
If truck is too stiff go to lighter springs and if to soft use heavier springs
Make sure you have the right length springs also, they are differant lengths for factory travel and after market long travel.
Google for online manuals is you dont have one, it should explain how suspensions work. I just did this for my revo 3.3:

Much appreciated replies. I think I may look into a softer spring. It seems as though these are too stiff.

Thanks Again

well if the stock ones are too soft and the after market ones are too stiff them why not use both? put 2 stock ones and 2 after market ones on the front and do the same with the back. thats what i would try. just make sure there is one of each on both sides not 2 stock shocks on one side and 2 after market shocks on the other side lol

That' would be your quickest/cheapest solution at this point. I'd give it a try before buying new ones.
