Hi,

After working out my previous issue (with help from this forum) with my transmission I now have an issue with starting my Tmaxx.

Setup:
Original tmaxx .15 using ezstart, two week old 20% nitro fuel, new glow plug.

Issue:
Last week my tmaxx was starting fine. The next time I tried to take it out it would not start. The ezstart light was not solid red. I thought it might be the glow plug, which I replaced with the same result. I checked the blue glow plug wire and it was a little dirty. After cleaning the blue wire I am able to get a solid red light on the ezstart. I can see the flywheel spinning, I see fuel getting to the motor, but the motor won't fire.

Request:
Troubleshooting suggestions.

I know there are people who love/hate the ezstart so I don't want to start a thread about how horrible it is or isn't. I am likely going to buy a glow starter, but before I do I was hoping for some tips/suggestions in troubleshooting my problem.

Thanks

I constantly have an issue with my ezstart working as well. Mine is caused by a bad connection with the glow plug. All I do to fix it is wiggle the glow plug wire while starting it and it fires right up. I'm going to a pull start as soon as I get some free cash.

I managed to get my TMaxx to start so I thought I would post my troubleshooting in case someone else has a similar issue.

NOTE: These were things I found on the web and in various forums.

1.) Make sure the yellow ground wire is securely connected to the motor mount. Mine had gotten loose, though tightening it down did not resolve the issue, I think it was a contributing factor.

2.) Verify the glow plug is getting red. I removed the glow plug from the motor and connected the blue wire. Holding the glow plug against the side of the motor mount (with the coil facing me), I tried the ez start. The glow plug coils glowed, which told me that my glow plug was good.

3.) When in doubt, try new fuel. My fuel was only a couple weeks old, but I had lost the cap to my fill bottle and rigged up a make shift cap. Apparently I did a bad job because using fresh fuel did the trick.

While troubleshooting I messed with my idle and high speed needle, so now I get to try and get it back where it was before, but at least it starts and runs.

Thanks
