I have an original tmaxx with some nice upgrades on it. I recently got back into the hobby so i replaced the os 12 i had in it for an os 18 cvrx. I kept the mip stinger exhaust and it runs pretty good. As we're all aware of in this hobby if we go faster or longer we're all over it. My question is what are my exhaust options for the original tmaxx? From what i've heard my options are pretty limited according to my lhs. I kept the stock blue header but i'm not gonna run a plastic tuned pipe. I've tried looking on towerhobbies but theres not much of a choice for a header. Thanks for the help in advance, Steve.

The stock blue header is fine, but can possibly get some gains from extending the inlet of the header a bit to match closer to the shape/size of the port on the engine. A bit of light dremeling to create a more gradual angle on the sides of the hole helps the exhaust move through a bit better.

As for a pipe... I ran a POS pipe back in the day, but that was before the OS18 existed. I ran the OS15CV-R(X).

This one would probably work well:

The MT2 runs a 18 now and that pipe would probably breath pretty good.

Too bad traxxas didn't make a single chamber resonator pipe that fit the right side like the one on the left side for the jato. That's what I run on my jato with the 2.5R and 18TM and it does pretty good.

NewEra sells a header for the MT2 that is ground out like I was talking about:

They also sell a ribbed pipe, can't vouch for it, but would be another one that would fit for you probably:

thank you very much.

the mip is pretty wide open actually but it tends to leak a bit of oil out of the manifold. Over the offseason i'm going to see if the header is damaged and if it's not, i'm going to install a better gasket and longer header bolts. If that does not work than i'll try the mentioned products above. thanks again Steve.
