I'm a huge fan of the 22X-4 Elite. I'm extremely impressed with both the quality and performance of the car, having bagged 1st in the last 4 A finals. The car is a beast! I'm running a centre diff, 5.5t mod on carpet.
Spares in the UK are obtainable as Shadow stock only unfortunately. So, provided you stock up on parts, it's not a problem.
The buggy holds up well to the rigours of carpet racing - and it's fast! According to my data log, using Redline 5300 140c battery, mine was hitting 41 mph on the straight - indoors!
Only part broken so far has been a bent shock shaft - arising from an impact with another car that had jumped the markings and hit me as I powered on to the straight. Unavoidable impact.
Jumping and handling are absolutely on point. Whilst the car affords loads of steering and is extremely responsive, the rear follows the front using Yellow Cactus and Fusion tyres. Grip levels are high, but grip roll only occurs if you steer and brake simultaneously.
Monitoring throttle %, voltages, current draw and temperatures are an excellent way of tracking consistency and discovering areas of opportunity. You can literally count the laps from the log.
Focusing on lines is extremely important when racing on carpet. Essentially 4WD Mod Buggy is touring car with jumps!
