Will maxx tires work on a savage?

If not can someone give me a link with bigjoe wheels and tires for the savage?

Also a good racing trie and wheel?

Thanx bandit

Yes, T-Maxx tires will fit on the Savage. The Bigjoe's also fit fine. A friend has them on his savage and they do increase your overall width, but they also add some weight to your truck.

I wouldn't recommend them if you are thinking about racing, b/c of their added weight. You can find several lighter tires out there.

Later...

The imex j-hawg maxx/savage tires are the best I've run so far. Lots of rubber on the road and they are lighter than both savage and maxx tires.

I have savage tires on maxx rims and they weigh 12oz a piece. Stock maxx tires on maxx rims weigh 14oz a piece.

J-hawgs weigh (if I remember correctly) 10oz on maxx rims.

All the rims are stock 2.5 maxx rims.

I was racing this weekend and the stock Savage tires were ballooning on me almost as soon as I hit the gas. I noticed ALOT of the savages out there were running T-Maxx wheels and they seemed to do well.

Other than the weight, would 40 series tires give me better turning, stability, or grip?

The j-hawgs in medium compound don't balloon as much as stock maxx tires. They seem to hold up a lot better than either the savage or maxx stock tires do. And they have a stiffer sidewall than the savage tires.

Yes the balloning of the stock savage tires really stinks when you start to care less about bashing and more about racing. The sidewall is tall and the foam is spongy = sucks for cornering.

I just got some Proline mulchers and I couldn't be happier. They give me nice bashing AND handling characteristics. They will dig all day long like a dog going for a bone yet they have stiff foam and reinforced sidewalls for good handling. Highly recommended.

thanx for all your help. What would you reccomend for only bashing(i race my storm and just bought a savage)?

I'm looking for some new tires for my savage aswell. Can people post links for the tires they recomend?...that would be very helpful. I'm looking for bashing tires mainly, i race my RS4 3 SS and bash my savage.

They will widen the turn radius, increase the footprint and thus the stability, but the grip is surface dependent.

Can you use a search function and do you know where Tower Hobbies on line can be found? I only ask because there is enough information in this thread to look this information up yourself.

Using the search term "T-Maxx Tires" on Tower Hobbies produced the following link: CLICK HERE
