I have the newest and baddest Revo 3.3 there is!!! I was recommended for tires the Pro-Line Crime Fighters that have 17 mm hex and are 1:8 Truck tires... I like them and i want to get them pre-mounted on the solid white wheels... What is the difference between 1/2 offset and standard offset.. What does an offset do for the truck?? I'm still sort of new and I dont know about offset's yet!!! Also, what are you guys using for tires and wheels.. Whats is the best for half/half of racing and bashing... I like these tires and heard they are good so... Also how are the Caliber tires??? JW.. thanx in advance!!!

1/2 offset is 1/2 inch offset from stock usually. It means that the hub of the wheel is 1/2" shallower from the back of the rim than on the stock wheel, which in effect makes the trucks stance 1 inch wider overall. This helps with stability in the corners. The downside is that it puts more strain on your hub bearings, so you have to pay more attention to them.

oh thanx... I'm gonna stick with standard offset then.. but what are some good racing/bashing tires???

depends on where you bash/race, i run proline Road Rage tires because i bash on road, but for racing, i have 2 sets, i have the crime fighters and also mashers, so if ur running on hard packed dirt, crime fighters, if ur running on loose dirt/mud, mashers, just my :2cents:

well i wanted something for the bash on saturday in PA and mx track is probably pretty soft but not too soft so i think ill go with the crime fighters... which ones though the MT or the 1/8 truck/buggy...???

ok but te thing is the mt will they fit on the 1/8th truck wheels because i have the new revo with the 17mm hubs...if not then what wheels are 17mm..i know that a lot of hpi wheels are

proline has a lot of wheels that are 17mm hex just go on there and find a set that you like. . .my revo has 23mm hexs so my choices are slim but i do have a few choices

yea..if it came to wheels i need to get ill get 23mm but if i can get a nice set of 17mm i will.

17mm is what everyone is going to as an industry standard FINALLY. The 3.7 LPR truggy tires are more responsive than the MT tires. Crime fighters are a great all around race tire. Get the 1/2" offset, the Revo needs it on a track. It does not hurt the bearings one bit, BUT it does put more force on the pillow balls and carriers themselves. If you plan on running a Revo for long you'll eventually end up with RPM arms, Ti. pivot balls and aluminum carriers. It's the only way to make it strong enough so you don't have to drive it like it's Grandma's Caddy'.
I have a set of 1/2" offset Crimefighter MT's on black dish 17mm wheels in excellent shape that do nothing but collect dust. I never use them as all I do is race truggies with the 3.7 LPR tires. PM me if you are interested.

Forgot about the newer "revo" style hubs... these kids these days don't know about the old maxx with those teeny axle bearings that would junk out just by looking at them funny. ;)

are the splined hexes from traxxas any different from other 17mm hubs by other companies????

In size no, but the hub itself has notches cut in it unlike any other hub I've seen. The traxxas wheels have the same notches, but in reverse, so the wheel hex keys to the hub itself.

I found this out after buying a set of traxxas revo 17mm wheels/tires for my aftershock. When they showed up, I noticed the weird hub/hex thing. Since I'm running standard OFNA t-maxx hubs, I had to cut the little plastic bits out so they would go on. Seems to be working fine otherwise though.

No, ANY standard 17mm hex wheel will work.
I highly recommend VP Pro Racing Cutoffs truggy tires. The lightest most balanced tire on the market, grips on everything and they last a long time.
