Not a racer, just bashing, mostly grass and street, want a good tire and wheel.
Are the 23mm worth the money?
If so a want the new Proline beadlocks.
Whats a good 40 series tire?
Tell me what you got!
Thanks

Also, I plan on running the quad body!!

I'm not sure of the new 23 mm wheels yet. i've heard a few people say they strip out easy or lead to them breaking the hubs. personally, i'll wait some more time to get a better review from other boards and members.

as for your tire question, i run the zombie maxx tires on HB dagger rims. over 3 gallons on them and no signs of wear or stripping. the tires themselves hook up on just about everything.

1 last thing u should know, the big joes are heavy and will increase your turning radius soo keep that in mind...

What are the advatages or disadvantages to the taller(40 series) tires?

the advatages are better grip, less side wall roll, more stable truck.
the disadvantages are slower truck (only by a bit)and a bit hearder on your drive train.

i run the big joes and cheyennes 23mm hex 40 series. they are really nice with no roll on the sidewalls. dont know who said they strip casue they are huge hexes. hook up real nice i might add. a bigger wheel means more top speed. just like a car with 20"inch rims. less bottom end but higher top speed.

stay away from the beadlocks. the owner of my off-road track has a pair and we were talking about them and he says they get full of dirt and dust on the inside of the wheel becasue the beadlocks are tightly closed from lock to lock so dirt gets in them and makes them off balance with a serious wobble in them.

if your on grass and street i geuss the beadlocks would be okay.

i just ordered a set of 23mm hex wabash 40 series rims and bow ties. the wabash offer a 1/2" inch less offset than the cheyennes, so it will corner better, and tighter. $72 shipped. my lhs wanted $120 out the door for them.

with the wabash rims you can paint them any color if you get the white ones. the paint will hold extremely well on that plastic wheel. paint holds good on the cheyenne rims also. heres a pick of my ride with cheyenne rims and big joes.

I agree, the Zombies tires are kickass they get great tracton.

as for wheels I like the velocity wheels from proline. I like them because I am a basher and I hate when sticks get through the wheel and lock out the tire.

what about the truckzilla tires and rims? are they any good because i might get some?

Moabs are the best all around. Flat for on road, and grooved for everything else.

They are an all aroundgood tire but to say they are the "Best" all around tire is subjective at best.

I prefer proline Velocity and Weld wheels, I have herd that Imex are fairly weak when it comes to big air.

Where os the cheapest place to get a set of moabs, and velocity 6 rims?
ebays about $85

Might not be the cheapest, but the most reliable...
Our very own RushRC.com will take care of ya...
