Hey guys, wonderin what tire/wheels you recommend for a savage flux. I need somethin tough since I've got 6s in it now, but somethin that still grips well. I was runnin maximizer beadlocks with hpi super mudders. After today I've blown three of my tires apart and the maximizers were already rough when I got em. ( screw threads and heads stripped).

So time for new tires and wheels. I want a nice set of beadlocks to help keep the tires in, that are offset for stability and have 17mm hubs in them. The issue I was havin with the maximizer wheels was they didn't hold the tire tight enough and on hard throttle take offs the inner edge of the tire would pull out leavin me with a half attached wheel. (Even glued front and back and still does it)

For wheels I was lookin at zombie max, badlands, phaltlines (for parkin lot runs), and big joes. I want good grip, with minimal ballooning and definitly gotta last. I've heard all are awesome tires the only issue I've heard with any of them is that the zombie max tires swell pretty bad unless you duct tape em inside.

That's about it, so any recommendations or best out of what I'm already lookn at? Also if it makes a difference I just bash never race at tracks or anything and I'm usually runnin in grass/dirt or gravel. Sometimes on pavement but I'm lookin at phaltline tires for that. Any recommendations are appreciated and if anyone has some gently used stuff they'd like to sell that fits that category lemme kno. Thanks.

You pretty much listed what most people would tell you to use, and everybody will swear by a different tire, based on their experience. And you'll have to tape just about any tire if you want to avoid ballooning.

I use geode wheels and stock tires off a new revo on my mmm e-maxx. I run 6s and I'd say roughly 50-55 mph. They don't balloon bad and can take some serious thrashin. Best of all they were 40 bucks brand new.

Forget about big joes, and badlands are very soft.

i have the stock flux wheels on mine ill love them..
well on my savage 25

i think I'm gonna do the rulux halfups and dye them black. then get some rubber compound CA glue. and I've decided imma definitely do the badlands.

anyone ever used gorilla tape inside the wheels to help with the ballooning. does it work any better or worse than duct taping them?
