I've got a fairly new set of tires on some rims that i want to take off and put on another set of rims that i just got. What do you suggest is the easiest way to take the tires off the old rims. Like what is the best for undoing that glue. I don't want to just tear em off. That'd prob cause some problems.

Take an old cookie sheet, pre-heat the oven to 350 and place them in there for about 15 minutes. The heat crystalizes the CA and they should pretty much come right off.

oh sweetness. i never thought about using the oven. Thanks. Ill try that one out. hope i don't burn the tires.

i have a set in the oven as we speak..... ill let you know in about 2o min how it goes.

sounds good i got the oven going right now I'm going to try 2 with the oven trick and 2 with boiling water. we'll see how they go

well the oven works... i turned it to 400, poped them in for 10 min, turned it off and let the marinate for another 10, took them out, and used a cooking spoon handle to push the tires off the rims. BUTTER!!!

That is exactly how I do them....works every time.

man i guess ill have to try the 400 degree one because the boiling water and baking at 350 didn't work. another day another project

I've tried the boiling water thing before. It worked but burned the poop out of my hands, and the cooler they get, the harder it is to get them off. (50% of the time I rip the tire) Id stick with the oven..

well i got one tire off well out of four those odds sort of blow, but i need to bake one more tire again to get the rest of the glue off, so maybe ill have two good tires out of the 4. 2 of the 4 I tore so those tires are dowm the crapper. Ahhhh this hobby gets more expensive as each minute passes. I have to replace my tranny box because the freakin screw holes for the brake pads are stripped and one screw totally fell out today, so i have no brakes. well thanks for the help with the tires maybe i just need to be a little more gentle next time.
