this is the first time i have had a savage25 have you got any tips for tuneing it.

you should start off by reading your manual
It also depends on what you mean by tuning. Tuning the engine or tuning the truck for a specific purpose.

get a temp gun...
do a search on Savage 25 tuning temp
DO NOT TOUCH THE MID RANGE NEEDLE
that is for experience tuning
if the engine is to hot... richin it up the high speed needle
if it makes a bubbling sound... lean it up the high speed needle
apply the brakes
if the engine cuts off adjust your idle
don't make your engine idle high as well
