Well i have bout lil over 2 gallons through these diffs I've cleaned and greased them once already but not sure if theyre in need of shims. How exactly do you tell they need shims? What a good shim kit? and you guys have any instruction on doing so?

with the RRP steel diff gears it says after a gallon u need to shim and grease it. most of the time there will be a little shimmy in ur diff, side to side action going on.

pretty much, cuz that can cause the gears not to mesh right, so wearing of the gears/ chipping. u add the shims to the inside of the output shafts.
