Well... being as my week consists pretty much of driving a forklift, coming home, playing WoW and crashing, I tend to get a bit behind current news.

Now, it's about 3:30 AM CST here in Texas... Or so I believed. My girl just woke up and informed me that I still gotta get up for work tommorow. I get that, I tell her. I still got a few hours to sleep. BUT, she decides to throw me a major curveball and tells me I just lost an hour.

Now, I am officialy lost, and freaking out about all my electronics. My cell and house phone did not change, and I understand that because the manufacturers programed the phones to set back to the right time here in a couple weeks. Still, my phone is FUBAR when it comes to time keeping. My comp reset correctly, and everything seems to be working correctly. I called my phone peeps, and they say they are working on a soloution now, But that still leaves one question- Why the hell did they move the time jump up? I have heard that each hour of every day is exactly four-someodd minutes short, and thats why we have the time thing, but where did we loose a couple weeks?

Anyone know anymore about this stuff? i would really like to check it out.

It's simply to allow for more hours of sunlight when most people are active. It saves quite allot of energy.

Actually, that is why we have Feb 29th. It is supposed to sum up those lost minutes for the 4 years, with an "extra" day.

Yup, you're hooped until Feb 29th comes around.. Sorry man, looks like you'll be draggin for a year or two (I forget when it comes around next).

And now I got in and realize my cable box not only moved up and hour, but TWO hours. Called veriozon and got nothing.

Man I hate this time of year.

In the Spring...you "spring forward one hour in time" and in the fall, you "fall back one hour in time"
