Hi, you might have had a read through my previous posts where i was saying i had trouble starting my savage with the RB mods STS d30m engine and i also was saying that it was getting super hot like 300F.
Well i took it to the model shop and they had it for a few days then gave me the bad news. You was perfectly correct Scrogg its warped the sleeve.
Now you guys might have seen how much has gone into this savage and i told the guy to stick me a 36 engine in so i can bash for a bit then I'm saving for a Schumacher Fusion 28 and he told me he would trade my savage and £260 for a fusion. But i can get a fusion for £300 so that would mean my car would only stand at £40. i was so tempted but i could break my savage down and sell the bits and get alot more than £40 in bits but it would be a shame to break it. Even tho my savage is annoying me alot now i couldnt let it go just yet. after i have had a play i might trade her in. i dont know if this new 36 engine will be better than my RB mods STS one but i dont know if the STS can be repaired.
Can anything be done with my STS d30m now its warped the sleeve?
And also what do you guys think of the Schumacher Fusion 28? i hear there fast as F***.
Alot of questions for you guys in that message.
Cheers!

Oh BTW i have no idea what he means by 36 engine... only ones i know of is the Force 3.6 and the K5.9. Sorry for double post
Thanks

Sorry to hear I was right... those engines are garbage. Put one of those new 5.9 Savage engines in it. I have heard lots of good about them. Mainly that they are fast all around and tune well. I see them in the 200 -220 dollar range on E-Bay pretty often.
The LRP Z.28 is a screamer for 160 or so. It is the best bargain engine out there. It is really close to the .30 performance.

no idea what engine it is he just said its bigger than your old one its a .36. so is the STS for the bin now?

A new piston and sleeve is the fix for the STS, but chances are it will do the same thing.
I think the .36 is the 5.9 engine.

its the Force 36 engine. its a 5.9.
what you think a piston and sleeve would cost for the sts or is it time for it to go in the bin?

Put it in the bin or sell it on E-Bay. Mine are in the bin, I just cannot justify that kind of money on something so fragile. The STS .30s are not good engines, 4 out of 5 never run right. You need to be a pro caliber tuner to make them work. I just got lucky on my first one.
