Well my throttle servo on my revo quit on my last night. About 2 weeks after my friends did. It seems when something on one of our trucks breaks the other truck will break not to long after.
So whats a good upgrade? I dont want to spend $150+ but I would spend anywhere below that. I just dont want to have to replace it again for a long time. I see Hitec and Futaba are the best but I dont know anything else about them really except to look for tq on the steering servos etc.

300+ oz in ...is a bit overkill for throttle and breaks ...the return spring might have problems pushing it back to neutral if something goes wrong with the power supply ...something with around 100 oz of torques is more than good enough

consider this Hitec one.

I believe it's the fastest hitec you can find for under $100.

at .08 sec your throttle will feel snappy and very quick. 111oz is more than enough to stop the revo. More than likely the stock servo on the revo is .10+ sec and less oz.

With that servo will I need to buy anything else to program it? Or will it work out of the box?

no need to program anything .. any servo will work out of the box

and if your revo has 2 steering servos , you can take one and use it for the throttle/break ...one is enough for steering the truck ...you could do that while you wait for your new one ;)

Luckily I am going on vacation for a week so when I get back my new exhaust and my servo will be here. :wheee:

all is good then ;) ...enjoy the vacation :D ...and when youll come back ...youl be able to enjoy the revo with a new pipe :wheee: ;)

It kinda sucked. I swapped out the bearings in the motor with boca ceramics and all of the bearings on the truck with boca bearings. I also filled the diff's and changed the fluid. It was running great. Finally flipping itself over even with the bigger wheels and tires and not 1/2 tank later the damn throttle seveo w/o warning stops working. But o well. I will have my 053 side exhaust to put on along with a servo that doesn't suck lol.

Whoops....I read Steering servo. Yeah 300 oz in is overkill on throttle, but 200+ is still a good number to shoot for on throttle ;-)

Remember to make sure that the t/b servo is not over-extending the linkage. Make sure the servo can move through it's whole range of motion, or you'll burn the new one up in a hurry as well.

When you say whole range of motion are you talking about from neutral to wide open on the throttle and brake? I thought I had this last one set up but who knows if it was just a Traxxas thing or I had it set doing one of the things you mentioned.

what radio is he using, stock?

if you have a radio with EPA, range of motion won't be an issue. I stop my EPA one click before WOT and just enough to lock the wheels in the other direction. i still have fuel tube on the linkage but it hardly compresses on the throttle side.

if you have an aftermarket radio with EPA, great. If not, and you're running stock which may not have it, as Metalhead said linkage length and range of travel is crutial.

I am running the stock 2.4 Traxxas radio.

is it the black radio or the grey one ??...the black one you can program ..the grey one was the first 2.4ghz systeme

Its the black one. I bought the Revo new maybe a month and a half ago.
