Got an issue driving me nuts, I'm using the Omni terminator, stock motor, hobbywing 120 a ESC, Radiolink RC6GS transmitter w7ch. Receiver, my issue is this and it's intermittent, when I pull trigger/ throttle going forward it's immediate instant movement, about half the time reverse works the same the other half of the time I might have to push the rev. 5-10 times before it does anything once it grabs its good, like it's not getting the signal, I have checked connections, recalibrated both ESC, Transmitter, on my remote once in awhile it shows a graph, when I hit rev sometimes it's not as strong looking as forward. I've tried everything I can think of to no avail. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, ty

I'm not familiar with Radiolink stuff but you could try adjusting the throttle trim in the direction of brake/reverse. Seems like the neutral position is just a little off.
Getting ready to get back to it, I'll check into the throttle trim first thing, I'll let ya know if that helps

I have no experience with your ESC but my MAX6s have a sizable amount of reverse / brake separation. If I try to go backwards directly after stopping the truck will just sit there. I have to wait a second or two before my ESC will acknowledge reverse, this is normal for most ESCs.

I find I have to double tap reverse and that works almost all of the time. I have to do that on my max8 g2, my ezrun 18amp esc, and I had to do the same on my max10 g2.

Maybe, try swapping the plugs on the receiver. This is done to narrow down transmitter/receiver/speed control issue.
  • With power off... plug servo into the receiver's channel 2 port
  • Plug ESC into the receiver's channel 1 port
  • Make sure Steering Trim is centered, and Steering Rate/Dual Rate are at 100%
  • Have your RC on a stand and/or tires not touching any surface
  • Turn power on as normal
The above will allow you to use your transmitter's trigger to control the steering on your RC vehicle, and your transmitter's wheel to control the throttle. Make sure the steering trim is centered 'cause any left or right trim signals are now being sent to the ESC as forward and reverse signals.

Note: Any steering EPA settings you have will now affect the throttle channel as you have swapped channels. The same goes for the throttle EPA settings.

I do this ESC/steering servo plug swapping to diagnose radio/servo/ESC issues. When done, don't forget to swap the plugs back into the ESC the way they were... steering servo plugs into the receiver on channel 1, and the ESC plugs into the receiver on channel 2. Easy way to remember... "1 to turn, and 2 to burn!"

Post your finding please if you figure out your issue. I got a similar issue with a radio (RadioLink RC3S)... more times than not it takes many, many 'pumps' of the trigger to get reverse to kick in. Other times it works fine as normal with just two 'pumps'. Throttle works fine doing channel swap (as posted earlier) using the radio's steering signals to operate ESC. I chalked up the issue as a bad 'pot', and too lazy to open the radio to attempt a 'pot' replacement.

What receiver is it? Can you post some pictures? It may be just the rx itself, I have also heard some so-so things about that particular transmitter.

First thing I I did was to zero out the throttle switch on the transmitter, then bumped it up until it was going on its own then backed it back off a couple of times until it wasn't moving, I think it went to forward 18 -20, and that made all the difference in the world, since then I put a new 3660 motor on it, forgot about setting the throttle setting and it took off immediately...had to dial it back to 0. Not exactly sure of the root cause, I've only been doin the Rc thing right at a year, learning fast, though, that's what worked for me, I appreciate all the advice I received, try to pass it along.
