throttle/ break adjustments

I'm having a small issue with my throttle/break on my BB Revo .....i had to set my tx to 70%throttle and 30% break to be able to open the carb fully ...now my issue is that the servo does not have enough movement to apply the pressure needed to stop the truck like i would want it to .....I've adjusted the breaks as tight as i could without them dragging ...and i also removed the spring on the break linkage and replaced it with something that doesn't compress .

i was able to get them to bite a bit more that way , i would like to know if there is a servo that has more movement so i could adjust the breaks like i want ....or is there a trick to use the 50/50 setting on the tx that would be able to open the carb fully ?

the servo i have on right now is a 2018 traxxas that i put 2056 gearing in it to make it stronger ( 2018 was to weak )

Have you tried adjusting the linkage at all? I know it's a dumb question, but if not it may help you out

yeah ...trust me ..i tried everything i could think of ...i rotated the carb both ways & played with the linkage ...i can't seem to find a way to make it work on the 50/50 setting ....thats why i want to know if some servos have more trow than others

You need to modify a different servo horn to give it some more throw. Your servo may not have enough torque at that point but the 2018 is wimpy anyway. I always use 70/30 even though trx says not too.

yes ..the 2018 is to weak ...thats why i put the 2056 gearing in the 2018 ...its strong enough now .....what servo horn would work ?? i have a few diff ones i could try ....il be using a 2075 steering servo as soon as i get my new ones to replace the steering servo

I kind of made a horn on mine, but I'm running a hitec servo. I used one of those big round disk ones and cut it out to work.It's a bit longer on both sides than a stock servo would be, which gives me more throw for both. I run 70/30 with a spektrum transmitter and a new era leaner BB kit.

its the traxxas link high output 2.4 ...(the newer ones)

cool...thanks .....i can see that the part that open the carb ( not sure how to call it ..the swivel thing that the linkage hooks up to ) is on diff than mine ...mine is reversed ....i will have to experiment with that
