Well I might be buying scroggs revo, and it need a throttle and steering servo. I want something that is going to make this thing turn. I used to run the Hitec servos but can't remember which ones to use. What set up you you guy run or have? thanks

i have the 5995 and they make a 5997 that makes a pair and they run nice.. I have also heard that the jr. 9000 series is really nice

Yeah it would, but it's a bit soft. If $ is an issue, a cheaper high qual servo is the hitec 985MG. Sealed with o-rings, runs 170oz/.13sec @ 6V and coreless, so it's pretty quick and strong. $70 a piece. 1 for steering, 1 for t/b and your done.

I ran that in my revo when I had it and it would slap the tires back and forth regardless what surface I was on. Make sure to pick up a heavy duty servo saver spring.

Since they are sealed, they are less likely to get water damage. I've ran my aftershock a good chunk last winter with the 985MG throttle servo buried in snow/ice/slush and didn't have a single issue. I usually cook at least 2-3 servos in the winter... but not anymore! I made sure to install one in my recently acquired savage for this winter since it's throttle servo is so exposed to snow being where it's at.

Just my :2cents:

Olds suggested an excellent servo choice, my Revo already has the heady duty servo saver spring installed with a Proline al. lower link.

How does a Heavy Duty Servo Saver Spring work ? I never tore into my servos yet so I don't know what they look like inside. Is there already a weaker version of this spring in there and all we do is upgrade it ? Or is the point to add the spring ?

I know my Servos on my 3.3 revo won't "slap the tires side to side" they only turn lock to lock when lifted off the ground or when moving.

the servo saver is built into the steering bellcrank on the chassis. The spring is under the front skidplate. You just remove the stock spring and put in the optional stiffer one. You do not want to do this unless you a good quality metal gear servo. Otherwise it just breaks the servo(s) on the first impact.
