please help the newbie.....I've had a brand new tmaxx in my house for almost a week due 2 weather....anywhoooooo.........I'm now trying to thread the antennae, but would rather shoot myself......any tips??????????????????????????????

Try a drop of oil in the end of the antenna tube. Then, straighten the antenna as much as you can (get out some of the kinks). Then push the antenna through the tube about a 1/4 inch at a time. The oil will help the antenna slide through.

This is a tedious task and may take some time, but it works.

Personally, I wrap it around the outside of the antenna tube and use a zip tie to hold the loose end. Just snug up the zip tie and then snip the end of the zip tie close to the tube so you do not have a little "flag".

Another option is to let it fly loose. I have seen that done, but it then becomes an issue of it possibly getting snagged by something.

Yet another option is to thread the antenna through until you only have about a half an inch out the one end. Cap it. Then pull the excess into the receiver box and replace the receiver box on the truck.

Whatever you do, DO NOT CUT THE EXTRA! Doing that will have some bad affects on reception.

After you get it threaded through, you can try THIS , Just wrap the extra wire around the tube, and use a piece of heat shrink to make a nice clean look. And it doesn't effect the signal range. Have fun!!!

i use shock oil to help thread it, and then just like skymaxx said, straighten it out nice and smooth. Also, my little tip on the excess wire, is i cut a small piece of fuel tubing, and slide it down the antenna tube. holds the wire nice and neat.

I use the heat shrink idea as well but I don’t like the look of wrapping the 'entire' antennae. What I do is use a small piece (about 1/2 wide) as an end cap on the tip of the antennae then wrap it around the tube like Twiztid said and use another small piece around the loose end. Looks like a band aid. But...to each their own.

if you dont like the oil trick you can use baby powder aswell, just put some in your hand, run the wire through it and slide'er up in there
