I saw this on another forum and thought it was a way cool idea and looked pretty legit. I think I'm going to send my mini T out. Its not much, but I dont use it, and if it could take a troops mind off the war crap for a few minutes, itd be worth it..

Um...............When I first got here I asked if you guys wanted to donate to the troops through rcbros but you shot me down faster than I could explain.

Maybe when you first got here nobody had an idea who you are?

I think its a great idea to help out our troops don't get me wrong BUT
How do you know what is making over there and what isn't.....

There are many scams going on right now and we honestly have no idea who is actually doing what they say they are.

IMO, We have military folks right here on this site. I'm sure if you made a post, someone will answer. At this point, you can get their OFFICIAL APO ADDRESS and send them things the want or need. If you feel the need, I have an APO for 3 guys with Bajas that are at Camp Victory. They would love to get some free stuff. I and many others have sent them products and they are truly thankful.

Again, do what you want. I just fell better knowing that I sent it, and its going to someone that I know needs it and appreciates it.

I have a buddy over in Iraq as well. I guess I could ask him for some info so I know it would get there for sure.

This is 100% legit guys, I'm not after it for anything. I originally started this on my own as some of the guys in Baghdad sent me an e-mail and they needed tools, so I sent them what I had, I then realized, why not start a donation for the guys?

I talk to the guys via phone regularly and I take pictures of everything that is donated, and the guys know that they receive everything. Each member on the site gets a badge and the companies who donate do as well. We've even got pro-line and traxxas to donate gear.

The reason I have people send it to me, is because I disburse the parts to where is needed most. Some companies have a lot of rustlers, so I try to send those particular parts they're. Some companies need batteries, so I send them there etc... etc...

What wasn't posted is a link to the thread where everything is posted. We have 13 pages of discussion with the troops replies and thanking the people for donating, it also lists everyone who donates with the pictures of what they donated.

Any way it happens is a good thing.....my Brother in law is just home from three tours and he says all that is sent is appreciated. Good Job Rc bros...Make Oregon proud.....!

And as Eddy said to each his own .....just donate.

Mike

That is exactly the type of behavior I tend to shy away from...No ofense.

So if he is new, all I see is he is bringing a fresh face to all the old topics. I think if he had something nice to share he should have been greeted with open arms.

Too bad I never got to to see the thread, or I would have donated right then, Mach1. Sorry to see that every new person here gets treated like they know nothing.
