Has anyone succsefully put something like hydrolics on an rc even though it would be a total waste

Have you ever looked at a pump? The things are as big as the RC. I would doubt anyone has tried.

Hydraulics run off of pumps. You'd need a pump and the smallest you would probably find would be about the size of your engine. You'd also need a hydraulic tank to store the fluid, lines, fittings, etc. See a few difficulties? Anyway, if it really floats your boat be the first on your block to make a hydraulic RC.

i may do that but i may just endup screwing up my rc

:dancin:

yea but ill let u know when i screw it up or mayb finish it

Instead of using a pump.....you could us either a smal actuator or even a few extra servos. With the right geometry and some fast high tourque servos I bet you could get an RC jumping no problem.

Instead of using hydrolics why not use electrics.....you could use either a small actuator or even a few extra servos. With the right geometry and some fast high tourq servos I bet you could get an RC jumping no problem.

Lego Technics has air pumps with pistons. Would work with onroad cars perfect because they even have mounting holes.

then it would be pneumatic, not hydraulic, and the power output of a pneumatic cylinder sucks. Stick with mechanical stuff, and above all, keep it somple. EP, don't forget that you have to have a resivoir for the fluid, and an intercooler for the fluid also.

I had a video of some guys that R/C'd a toyota camry, and they used pneumatics, but the cylinders were about the size of baseball bats.

Are you calling our RC rides TOYS???? All the time, money, sweat, tears we put into this hobby and you are degrading these works of art (in some cases) down to the level of toys??? How dare you!!!! :loser: :thumbdown :whack:

You are out of your friggen MIND man.

I call em toy coz you're suppose to have fun with it.Trust me buddy i wouldnt degrade our hobby. But if you consider your RC your treasure and not have fun with it i suggest you get out of this hobby.:smoke:

I think I mentioned it before, yup there it is... As far as the intercooler, you can get away with needing those, most big industrial strength applications don't use them and as a result some of the systems generate hydraulic fluid that can withstand hundreds of degree temps. It also sucks to have one blow and get hit by scalding hot hyd fluid, believe me I know.

One thing Bmoc, the thing about hydraulics that I failed to remember until now, no one uses hydraulics in an application where weight is a major factor. Aircraft used to be solely hydraulic and how have switched mostly to servo type applications It seems kinda dangerous IMHO that a combat aircraft can crash if a tiny electrical cable gets cut from shrapnel or a bullet.

Nah I think I'll stick around. I run all my RCs hard and dirty. No fun in staying clean. The works of art I were refferring to were the "CyberMaxxs" that were being built and some of the pics of all graphite or all alum chassis. They are absolutely beautiful.

Btw I was joking.

Dude they are toys.

High quality toys but toys nonetheless. They give us hours and hours of fun. They make us mad and happy. They break and can be fixed which makes them Good Toys. But what-else would you call them besides vehicles?

So you can just zip your toy back up and go outside and play with your Vehicle..........Or get wasted and end up calling it a toy:trashed:
