ok so i just got my Revo 3.3 yesterday and i absolutely LOVE it. i can't stop playing with it. i can't believe how durable this thing is, i have slammed into to pretty much everything, and flipped it many many times. i took the body off and ended up scratching up the whole top of the engine head, and bent one of the fins, is this bad?

anyways, my main question, do you guyz add some kind of more durable bodies or something? cause my body is just crap, its all bent up now and everytime i do a wheelie the back of the body catches on the ground and rips the whole back up and busts off those little pins keeping the body on. this is the only thing that is REALLY irritating me, any suggestions?

one more thing, do i have to clean out the engine with wd40 or similar EVERY time i run this thing?

I don't know what other guys do... I'm currently trying to think of a way to run a half body because I'm tired of the same problem. They didn't make the bumpers stick out far enough for them to drag on the ground instead of the body during a wheelie.

For the engine, get some after run oil. WD-40 works ok, but ARO is better for you. Just a few drops down the glow plug hole and carb, then turn the engine over a few times and your good for storing it. If your going to run it every day, then you don't need too use ARO. But, if it's going to sit for a week or so, then you want to use it to avoid getting rust.

Guy at the track was running a Revo with a half-body, If he's out again next time I go, I'll snap a picture.

The Crow Pleazer bodies do not catch when you wheelie, though, so you may want to consider that on your next one.

Every body will get dinged up if you flip it and land on your lid a lot. I suggest using that stocker body and just beat hell out of it until you can handle the rig. Even with a rollcage, the body will still get the tar beat out of it.

I take four big zip ties and wrap them over the top fin of the engine head in four equal places around it, then cut the excess off except for the square piece. I'll try finding a picture, but I'm sure someone will post up what I'm referring to.

kewl, a picture of that would be great. is it common to be losing all these pins tho? i have lost about 4 of them already since the back of the body gets ripped off, i dont really understand whats happening, but I'm guessing the whole metal pin is breaking off.

i Really like that rollcage, i think imma have to order one of those :)

Bodies are replaceable.
After market bodies are less than $30.
A $5 dollar can of paint and your good to go.
There stronger than the stock bodies.

thats great info about the storing, I'm gonna try and run everyday if the weather allows me to, and i wasn't really looking forward to taking apart the glow plug and all that every single day, although i still need to clean out my air filter, i was reading that i need to do it for every hour of running and I've ran fer about 8-10 hours so far... its raining now :'(

Do a search on air filter or air filter cleaning. You should be able to come up with a cleaning procedure. There are a lot of threads on this subject. The search box is your friend!

yup yup, i have read how to clean the air filter but thx. and yes i know how to use the search :) but the search never has liked me so no we're not friends :P

I feel your pain with the torn up body, mine is just about done. I have been using zip ties to hold it on the truck until my new body ( F-650) gets here. You shouldn't need the zip ties on the 3.3 head because the head protector is screwed on instead of just snapped on and shouldn't come off, notice I said shouldn't. Also check the rubber piece holding the body pins, this won't keep them in place but you won't loose them anymore, I forgot what they are called but I'm sure somebody knows or I'll eventually find a link to them LOL

Does this look familiar LOL

Holy cow! What's the story behind that tire? Man, must've been a helluva blow-out!

Here ya go. Notice the zip ties around the head? That's what I'm referring to. I did not know the new Revo's have the head protector, so as long as you have that, you should be alright.

damn, hahahhaha, that body is definately in worse shape than mine is, sheesh. that makes me not feel so bad, lol. ill have to post up some pictures tonight when i get home, i should have taken pix last night when there was grass and dirt all over it, but i just HAD to clean it up :)

also about the head... mine does have the head protector on there, but even like 1 or 2 of the fins got bent down, i think imma order a replacement head. i wonder if the wire ties will protect it a little more from getting all messed up like that.

FYI, The RCS cage is due out soon for the Revo 3.3. PM ScottM about it as he will be the one to directly inform the site on the status. The standard one out for the revo is too shor and will not fit onthe revo 3.3 .

I was going to get it but I decided and sold the Revo.

oh thx fer the info jon2, i didnt realize that cage wasn't for the 3.3

those are the body clip pulls. They are very easy to make and make it easier to find those clips when you loose them.

As for your heatsink, I think the stock head protector should be fine, or you can also do the fuel tubing, thats what most poeple do.

Those are not the same, the ones I'm talking about are connected to the body so even if they come out of the post they are still on the truck.

Smaxxin, you're talking about these, right?

Those are great but they can get caught and sliced up.

Overall, body clips are a dime a dozen anyway. I just keep a bag of 'em in my pit box. The LHS here runs a special every now and then with a big bucket of clips, all you can grab in one handful for $3.00.

....and yes, to answer the nagging question, a big hand isn't the only think I got!
