So in my never ending quest to ruin my T-Maxx with water and snow, heres what I came up with during my smoking runs out to the garage last nite.

That looks good!

Dude that is freekin crazy...

I guess if you wanted to go mudding or run in the snow that would be awesome! But running it in mud or snow is prolly not very good for your truck... lol

I ran mine today while it was about 25 degrees outside and i was running it on some ice and it was insane! :)

But dude good job on those, it looks really good!

Thanks for the compliments...

As far as not being water not being good for the truck, I can't really think of anything it could ruin that couldn't be avoided with proper after run maintenance. My electronics are ballooned and siliconed. Engine maybe, but I'm not trying to take it through foot high snow. Just frozen ground and packed snow pretty much.

I don't even know if I'm going to run these, I was just screwing around. Although after rolling the truck around with the one on it, I think it would actually work pretty well. A lot of extra un-sprung weight there though. ...

there was a guy on here years ago that made some and was trying to sell them. IIRC he said they worked pretty well.

for deep snow, some paddles would rock!

LOL yea I love those things. Let us know how they work! I *might* worry about one letting go and ripping through the body, but I have no clue if that's even a concern. Cool deal! :)

Nah, there's no way they would come off. I may try aluminum chain to cut down on the weight.

My GF got me one of those HD camcorders for xmas, so video is sure to follow :)

well i guess if you have all your parts and cases that are electronic then you have nothing to worry about!

I have ran mine in snow before and fried my steering servo and my battery box one day so i went ahead and siliconed mine to...

Anyway i think its bad ass and like Skwerly said let us know how they work when you get a good snow or decide to go muddin!

If you run in snow or a few puddles every now and then it can get in your wheel bearings and eventually they'll be siezed up. I know they're rubber sealed but nothing that spins is REALLY sealed.

Yeah thats very true!!! I think its really fun running stuff in the snow and mudd but you really have to go through a lot of work to do so...

But i think its worth it! The only thing i hate about running mine in the cold is that its a bitch to start and to keep tuned when its really cold like that!

Your right, racer. I took it out in the snow today on the stock talons and it has no trouble getting around. Even up hills.

Although I underestimated the amount of water/snow that would make its way into the truck. I might as well have hit it with a hose. My electronics were fine, but I am going to have to find a way to keep snow off of the air filter. It looked like a snowball.

Well heres what I came up with for a waterproof air filter. Its just a paint can lid with a hole drilled in the end, and more holes for airflow along the bottom. Should do the job I think. Airflow shouldn't be too big of a problem. There is a good 1/4 inch gap between the lid and the filter.
