I'm wanting to change rx/tx to get more Fq options what has worked best for you guys. I go to a local track that many are racing revos with stock Tx/Rx and as you know there aren't many bands. I'm not too sure of brands, but hear alot about Jr.

Also what else do you have to change when you change Tx/Rx?

Jr has a Synth Radio as well as Airtronics, THe M8 and Hitec agressor: CRX. If you change, it is common to get higher end servos for your application, even digital ones.

what is a synth radio and what does it do? sorry havn't looked at a radio in a while. its Jr a good brand and any specific one that is better.

A synth radio allows the user to choose different frequencies to use. The number of channels depend on whether you get FM 27MHz or 75Mhz.75 is mor ideal as it gives you 39 channels as 27 gives you 6 I believe. It comes in handy when there are more users that are operating on different frequencies that you may be on, The TX is adjustable and all you do is change the RX to match your frequency channel.

JR has the XS3 or the XS3 Pro. Big diffs are the color, and model memory. The XS3 has 6 and the pro has 10. The RX is an improvement as well. It is supposed to be more resistant to vibration and is a little more compact.

Airtronics has the M8 which also comes in the synth verion but also has the spectrum module. Also have the affordable MX3-S.

Hitec has the aggressor CRX but I am not sure if it is available but the CRX was a synth version.

Any of the three are great. I have the XS3 and love it!

when you switch Fq do you have to change out crystals or is it done electronicaly. will it work with the optidrive and the revo on board batt. or do you change that out as well?

Yeah, I just picked up an MX3-S as well, with two 102z servos. (useless)

The MX3-S has 18 model memory and is fully synthed as long as you use the synth Rx. Now all I have to is get 3 more synth Rx's!

what are the best servos to run on the traxxas revo for the steering and throttle and as the shift? Is it better to run single or dual for steering. I'm looking at the Jr Xr3I anyone have any opinions on this radio. Can you use the stock servos that are on the revo or do you need to change them and why?

I have a JR XS3 that does the trick, but I would suggest the M8. At least that is what I want.

EBAY it baby. I know of someone on EBAY that may get the RS300 for cheap.
