Well, not really but here's something I noticed today at the track.

There were a bunch of people out there today with an assortment of MT and buggies. I noticed that my 1/8 scale buggy and another guy (he had a prospec mugen) kept consistently running. The other guys with Mammoth ST's, revo's, and Maxx's all had problems of one sort or another. Does this tend to be true that the 1/8 buggies are less problematic when it comes to running them at a track over and over?

Just wondering...oh, I want a revo big time...

I think it basically depends on whos doing the tuning and how they were broke in. In this case anyway. If they had Cen's or Smartechs I would say its just because them ones were crap, but you named some good trucks, so I'm guessing they werent tuned as well.

From the minimal amount of time I have been involved with buggies, they do seem a hell of a lot tougher. With both my rc10GT and mammoth there always seems to be a problem with the chasis flexing and losing dogbones, and recently I had a problem with a hard wreck moving the motor from position- stripping the spurs and killing the engine. I suppose that the tighter chasis setup greatly help with flexibilty, and I have seen several buggies with the tub look going. I am sure the added material helps keep it nice and rigid. Also from what I have seen the arms are shorter, therefore stronger IMO, greatly reducing breaks and less flexing means less room for one of those elusive dogbones to slip out of place.

I have no idea how tight set the mills/gears are, but from what I saw of Beason's bug they are closely mated, giving little room for play. I guess as long as you keep the mill tuned and keep a good eye on it a buggy will far out perform a MT in several ways.
