The Revo broke a paw :(

There's a set screw through the top part of the yoke that goes through the outdrive. Take the hex off at the other end, slide the pin out that catches the hex and then just push the other end of the axle through the carrier. To put the new one on just loosen up the upper pillow ball in the carrier (probably all the way out) and install the new one.

I like to go over to Sherlock's when I'm there, they have a band every night. Dukes All American isn't bad on certain night either. Usually I eat at Houston's or ol' reliable Outback and of course Hooters. But yeah, the restaurant selection around there is unlike anywhere I've ever been.

Pull the plastic hex nut from the wheel side off, slip out the pin, and then the axle stub will pull from the inside (shaft side) out. The plastic hex nut will have some resistance but just pop it off. It is held on by a little pin that is cross drilled through a hole in the stub axle. PM me for mmy cel number if you want clearer instructions. I can see where you are confused.

YES i GOT IT OFF

I said to heck with it and started prying that nut off on the wheel side. Then I saw that little pin you all was talking about.

Thanks again :)

EDITED: Well I got her all taken a part and waiting for her new parts. That seems to be the normal thing uh? I mean waiting on parts lol Anyways, I sprung for an assembled shaft joints so it should go together pretty quick.

Ya, Thats Dukes is pretty much across from where I usualy stay. I'm not into all that stuff but I have done Sherlock's before...but over in Arlington. They got dart baords ;)

And next time you won't have to take the whole hub off of the pillow balls too. Good luck on getting it all back together! Make sure you set the pillow balls back to whrer they were or you are gonna have one funky suspension!

If it's the front, unscrew the bolt for the toe link and take the wheel nut off, the wheel and the hex pin.

MW had it right, guess we confused you with our descriptions.

Ok just to make sure I got this straight...pillow balls are the ball like bolts going through the hub and bolting to the A arms?

Anyways, hopefully It shouldn't be pretty straight forward when comes time to reinstall it. The whole thing seems pretty much like what I did with the Tmaxx when I had to replace both A arms on one side.....now taht I think about it, both trucks broke on the same side:ponder2:

Yes there's an upper and lower pillow ball that go through the carrier into each A arm and that's also how you'll make your camber adjustment, I'm about 1.5 degrees in front.

Oh really? Well I knew they bolted together but didn't know you make camber adjustments there. So how do you know what your adjustments are and how to make them?

Well I'm off to bed folks....that is after I clean of my mess from working on the Revo in the Kitchen :opps:

We'll talk tomorrow.

BTW, Jet, can you help me with my question on my servo thread?

RPM has a camber guage for MT's. Or you can make something up yourself depending on on how creative you are or how much time you want to put into it. LOL

Ray, easiest way to get very close so you can test run the vehicle is take the wheel off of the other side, get your micro calipers out and measure the gap between the inside edge of the ball to the end of the a-arm, top and bottom each. Then insert the pillow balls onto the other side to the same dimensions. A lot of buggy racers do it this way if they break an arm during a race.

You know what, I need to take some pictures of doing this, just to make it easier. I'm actually at a good point to do so, so I'll see if I can take some pictures on doing this.

My apologies if I confused you. I need to slow down (I also need my mail-order pharmacy to get on the stick and get my Adderall to me!)

Well she's back on all four paws ready to bash again

This is actually a not easier to do than what one like my self thought it would be. MW, the thing that lost me was the Hex hubs....when someone tells me Hex, I start looking for an allen screw which is also called a hex screw. It's all good though and you all still helped me out a lot.

Thanks
Ray

PS I ordered me some extra shafts and I'm building one ready to go with U joints and all. Those U joints are even easy once you get to playing around with them ;)

Thanks again

My bad! Glad she's on all fours again! I've got my Revo ready, just need my rotostart plate to come in!

It still helped me out a lot :thankyou:

It was pretty easy to fix and a lot of fun. The only thing I hate about this hobby is the waiting on parts :( So I order extras when ever something breaks or a better version of it. Right now I got a front shaft ready to bolt on and an extra plan front shaft. I'm going to order some small hope up stuff for the Revo and will order me some rear shaft and center shafts along with that stuff also.

I don't mean to hijack my own thread but it beats making a new thread sometimes ....

Now speaking of the rotostart....is it really that much better than a easy start? It's not that bad to start my Revo with an Easystart but my friends Tmaxx is a PITA. It's got a bad connection some where and I just can't help but think a pull start would be better ;)

Thanks
Ray
