Last weekend I was having all sorts of problems starting my Savage and Storm. I figured I would run into a few problems considering this was my first run since winter. After running through the mental checklist I checked my glow starter. The battery was shot. The glow plug was barely glowing. So I slapped in a few battery and away I went. After running for the day I decided to head to the LHS and pick up one of these.....

I can't believe I waited this long to get one of these setups! This thing makes my glow plug glow 20x better!! This is the best $12 I've spent in a while!!! Bottom line is don't walk, RUN to your LHS and purchase this. You will not regret it!!

I picked up the exact same set-up after reading Sky's post. Could not be happier with it.

It'll fit in your coat pocket lol.. I use it to start on the bench (my tailgate) ten pack around the other for quick starts

No, it's an alkaline battery. It lasts an ungodly long time. I picked one up at the beginning of summer last year and I'm still using the same one this year. It has even survived me breaking in two engines and through tuning problems. I tell you, if you have had problems with getting your tune right this setup will help you start with not so ideal carb settings. I use my NiCd glow ignitor for those times i'm running and flame out after I roll my ride over. It beats dragging the larger battery around.

One note, make sure you get the 1.5V hobby battery because the 6V lantern batteries will burn out your glow plugs in a hurry. :D
