Can anyone tell me the most powerful engine that I can possibly fit into a hpi type SS. Something that will increase speed a fair amount without major modifications to the car. Thanks.

P.S. What other hop-ups would you suggest that increase speed for the type SS.:help:

how much money do u have? lol. and what do u consider major modifications?

JP and Paris modified engines produce enormous power, but it comes at a steep price. u will also need to do some mods to allow for a rear exhaust engine, and a slide carb.

srry but no more than $200 or around there. No rear exhaust mods. Anything else would probably be fine.

probably the best side exhaust engine available right now, would be the OS MAX .15CV-RX. its a direct fit into the car u have. but i would recommend getting it with the slide carb, and doing the linkage change.

i have a .21 racer 2 (gen 2 rs4) and i have a hyper .21, same size as a rb c5.. soo uh..... rb c5 = most possible powerful engine in a rs4 3 ss

and btw, a hyper .21 8 port is under 200 bucks.

thanks yet again NA and you too razor:write:

what model number is that engine on osengines.com? both the slide carb and the direct fit. I appreciate it.

ok, for ABOUT 200 bux, u can get a ofna hyper .21, the wolfpack .21 conversion kit, and some new gears (23/37 ) and then u cna kick ass and burnout and STILL go 80Mph.:egad:

i"m willing to bet jp's put out more juice then a c-5 rody! :D

razor~
the wolfpack .21 conversion kit won't work on the new rs4 3 class because it has a shaft drive 4WD. They only work on belt driven drives like the orig. Nitro Rs4

wrong. i know people who have the .21 on their rs4 3 and plus, my nmt, (also .21) and the rs43 share a VERY similar chassis.... trust me, it will work fine.

lets see f anyone around here knows anyone with a .21 rs43.. lets get some estimonials.

I've actually put the .26 engine in my RS4 3ss... but you can't use a pull start or roto.. needs to be bump start... so now I just put the conversion on to my Super Nitro RS4 and the baby moves...

excuse my ignorance but whats a bump start

TRD what exactly did you do to fit the engine in
what .26 is it

bump start is when you take of the pull starter and use a starter box to start your enigne... it is a box with a motor that spins a rubber wheels that you use to spin the fly wheels in order to start the car

What I used to fit the .26 is the wolf pack coversion kit. it come with a shim, flywheel... I used the original clutch bell and got a shim kit as well. the .21 or .26 will not fit if you plan to use the pull starter unless you find a motor houses a small pull start...

My gallery shows my .26 in my SNR.. I'll try to find pics of my RS4 3ss with it... I took it out cause I wanted to use it on the Super Nitros.

look at the "Member Projects Forum" you will see the conversion.. the conversion works on all HPI products except for the Proceed , and mini Nitro.. well you can on the mini, just never saw it done..
