That is just so cool, how much room is there for articulation, looks tight.
I'm still working the "kinks" out on body mounts, yea it looks like it could be tight. This won't be a top performer thats for sure.

I was just thinking the same thing.

Planning a lift, @TeknoJ ?

Looking great so far!
I may have to raise the body up a bit! The body is just kind of sitting on the frame here 👆

I have been mulling over this KEI truck for a while and just started printing parts a couple weeks ago. I purchased the files for the cab and bed. I got a carbon fiber chassis from amazon that is a replica of the SCX10 pro and cannibalized all the parts from my injora rock buggy to complete the build of the rolling chassis.
It is maintaining the 313mm wheelbase, the files allow you to print parts for 3 different wheelbases.
I cannot use any tire greater than about 98mm in diameter, which I have none unless I use the tires off the Mini Maxx. They are a perfect fit but don't have the proper wheel offset.
Once I get my phone back from my son, I can provide pictures of what I have done so far.
The image below is a snip from the gentleman's showcase, it is not my own. I can provide a link to where I found this truck and quite a few others that look really cool.

I purchased these chassis rails for about $22. 3.5mm thick carbon that appears pretty good.

I'm tellin ya, people in Idaho have great taste. ;)

Looks like I need a little up and push it further back to center the wheel in the wheel well.
Getting there!

This is going to be a showstopper when you get it all wrapped up. :)
Thanks man, I sent my brother a few pics of this last night. He used to have one but couldn’t find some drivetrain parts to get it back on the road.
Now I see them all over the place.

I may have to chop these mudflaps to get where I want to be.
I printed this thing for a 313mm wheelbase but it still doesn’t quite lineup. I blame it on my link ends. I’m using some Revo rod ends and some are injora.

Nice axle 😗

I designed this super slick everything tray. It holds the ESC, the receiver, and the battery up front. The little slot lets me Velcro the battery down.
I have already bound the Radiomaster MT12 to this one.

I put it all together and realized a few things.

The motor and front driveshaft rub at full compression. I need to redesign the skid to correct that.
I need to ad just a few mm of height on the body mounts so the tires don’t rub on the cab. Not a big deal.
The motor cogs way down low. I flashed it with the Holmes firmware, before the firmware flash it did not cog. I also didn’t have the body on so the extra weight could be the difference. The fix would be a smaller pinion. I put a 16t on which is the smallest I have. The transmission info says start with a 12 for an ar44 type axle. The trans has a 44t pinion, 48P.
Anyway, it’s cool!

Got some lights and a controller!!
The sq-1 light controller ties in to the throttle channel so it will activate brake lights, reverse lights, does a backfire for drift cars, should be pretty cool.

This is such a cool project, and it just keeps gettin' better! 😍
It’s the most in depth project I have taken on yet! I wanted something that was more scale than performance, this will definitely surprise me if it doesn’t topple over all the time 😆
Thank you

Sometimes a little variety is just what is needed. ;)
