So I decided to do a few mods to my Savage. I had a bit of FLM stuff and I really wanted to do a mid-tank mod. So I went to work and over the last two years this is how is came out. I decided to do with a rear mounted radio box and I found the old E-Savage box fit in between the rear shocks pretty well and holds battery, receiver and fail-safe. Makes the rear a lot more solid too.

So here is a basic parts list....

FLM extended Low CG chassis plates
FLM Hybrid bulks w/ Flux/XL diff cups
FLM upper A-Arms
FLM Engine mount (THANKS ROLEX!) you are still the man!
FLM Engine mount plate
FLM Shock towers
FLM tank plate
FLM steering link
FLM Bottom Skid
Ofna CRT X2 Tank
HB/HPI E-Savage radio box
XL bullet proof diff
XL full outers, beefier drive shafts, knuckles, and extenders
Powered by a LRP .30 Spec 2
Pipe by Robin at Extreme RC Mods
LST2 Shocks (Thanks for the great deal Racer1966!)
LST shock mod kit by Innovative RC
3 speed gear box w/higher third gear kit.

Dude that rig is sick!! Where did you put the reciever and battery pack? What is the advantage of a mid tank mod? I have seen a lot of them but never quite understood the reason for it? Anyway very nice work and i love the lid!!

Damn that's fricken nice. Great job!

I've been putting the finishing touches on mine, finally. 5 packages coming in the mail.
Man that's a beauty. The silver and blue just looks great. Call me for tips on cleaning. :D

The battery and receiver are in the trunk... the box in the back on the rear bumper. The mid-tank gets rid of the half tank lean issue many Savages have and also gives better balance. Yes I like the lid to...NCNitro really hooked that thing up.

Hopefully the lid will show up soon. The po said it could take 4 weeks to get to Japan, but with the current state of things there I'm betting it could be longer.:\

Wow How do you like the shocks, Who makes them and whats needed to put them on a savage flux, because if i get one I really like thoughs.

I'm such a dork... my favorite part.... your linkages are gorgeous. That's airplane equipment isn't it? Nice :thumbup:

Thanks Lessen, yes those are Hirobo Heli linkages. Yes they are absolutely zero friction. Love 'em. The fuel tank is a 150cc with a built in stone filter and slots for fuel tubing hangers to be able to wrap around to give the extra length for upside down run time for those wonderful lid skids.

I thought POS too....lol. Actually I have had the LST conversion for awhile. I really like it. Very plush landings and rarely bottoms out. It will see some dirt time....it has already actually. The engine actually only has around 10 tanks on it so it is pretty fresh still.
