Wow it's amazing to me every time I read posts in this forum. Is education in America dead? Why is correct spelling and grammatical context so difficult? Please think before we type. Just kind words from a newbie.

Tip: Use a word processor with a spell checker and preferably a grammar checker to write a post, then copy and paste.

You should see some of the text messages I get from my family over seas! Even the shortcuts have shorcuts! I need to decipher the message before even trying to understand what they wrote!:horsecrap

I'm no typing guru. I am also no english major, but threads I do not read include some of the following.

Deez,dem,wut?,me 2,sup, peepz, R U 2 crazy 2 drive wut U ownz.

I won't even read them. I try for the first two sentences then hit the back button, and look for another interesting thread.

It just drives me absolutely insane. To me it's like saying I'm lazy, can't spell, don't care to spell, and I'm disrespectful.

the other peeve is run on sentences with no spaces they are hard to follow and they dont seperate thoughts with spaces and so they are very hard to decipher instead of looking like a paragraph or a thought written down it looks more like a jumbled mess of words that dont make sense couple dat with bunchs uf mispeeled wurds and the sup dewd dis owns yur stuff and its 2 hard 2 decipher wut u r sayen to even try 2 figur it out so i sayz i jess give up

Heh, I can handle alot of stuff, but when a post becomes hard to decipher I just can't do it. Everyone mispells words. Everyone has trouble with grammar from time to time. I can live with that. When you don't even try to make sense, I'm done.

Yah, it annoyz me how peoples can't type properly.....iz like, wtf, where'd you learnz to type. Did they stop taeching grammar and all that jazzzzzzz? Sumtimes you jus wan say, STFU!!!!

But seriously, it doesn't bother me all that much. I use the wtf, stfu, lhs, lsn, hsn and all the little shortcuts. It only bothers me when they really go out of their way to make it unreadable. Or when people just take no effort to use any sort of sentence structure or spelling or anything, and it's just totally unreadable. And they dont' give a poop. Then they expect you to answer their questions on top of that.

I think the point here is not non-native english speaking folks, it's the people here in the states that are supposed to be able to arrange a few words into understandable sentances. I know some people overseas that can convey thoughts alot better, in english) than alot of people here. Remember the Bmoc posts, and the little utility someone turned him onto that made him understandable?

exactly 401. I rarely have a problem reading a post from someone overseaes. It's the ones who's first language is english I can't understand.

damn some of those where kinda tough to read. I know sometimes i mess up on words but like alot of you said some people just dont try anymore. I use shortcuts like wtf,lhs,w/, w/o but i try to make sure my grammar is correct.
