Picked it up today at my LHS. Couldn't wait for one to come in the mail from Bruce. I can't wait to break it in. Unfortunately it's raining all this week :(

Initial build impressions. I'm no engine expert but the fit and finish is on par with my WASP .28. The engine did not come with a glow plug and the carb was not attached.

last time for the wasp

The carb has sirio cast into it and the rotostart backplate does not fit. I'll be using the pullstart for now until I can find a backplate that will fit.

Can you give me an online link for the engine?
It looks sweet. Let us know if it is worth it over the wasp.

The exhaust port has much larger grooves cut into it. One large one on the bottom and two on the sides. I'll crack this thing open tonight after work and post more pictures of the sleeve and porting.

I was looking at the SH Golden Lion until I saw the Collari. Once you get the Tuning Fininshed, Let us know what you think of the Torque. I don't think horsepower is going to be an issue. I am a backyard basher and want first something with good torque, Horsepower would be second.

Gear it up tall and let us know how it runs.

Once break in is finished I will be trying out my new 19/47 gear combo. I'll also shoot some vid for everyone. Perfect way to spend a 3 day weekend!

What are ya waiten for? Get her started... j/k take your time and do it right.

If you want a killer motor that has too much power, go with a REX 528XRP (.28, 8 port). It has sick power! You'll pay double what a Wasp or any other sport motor costs, but you'll also get an incredible motor that's well worth it IMO. I would say my Nova powered Savage is one of the fastest out there, unless you've got a 528 or a Sirio .27 pro.

Well, I stopped by my LHS to get some new stock clutch shoes and instead got this. It does not work with the collet supplied with the new engine, the outer diameter is too small. I had a spare collet that is slightly larger and it fits perfectly. One more pic before I bolt her on the engine mount.

It is about 5mm larger in diameter than my stock WASP .28 heatsink but 3-4 mm shorter with 8 fins vs 11 fins on the WASP. The fins are also slightly thinner than the WASP.28 fins. What this all means is nothing since I haven't even started it yet.
