the carb wont turn!!! help please

just got a question for the carb, it is directed at a diffrent angle to what i need it, i need it basically perpendicular with the engine, for some reason when i open out the set screw to hold the carb in, the carb won turn its very stiff, i treid heating it up to see if it loosened it abit and it wont budge, what could i do to move it abit, should i give it a little hit? am affrain that will damage the carb am not sure tho. what do you personaly do?

Tap the screw head lightly, it should free up the pinch bolt.

hey scrogg, you do mean the set screw right? but how would this make the carb looser?

Loosen the screw a little and tap it firmly but don't over do it.
The screw wedges the two pinch blocks into the neck of the carb when you tighten it.. Sometimes they stick that way.
I've done it a million times, don't worry.
