I'm trying to work on mine... Got cobwebs everywhere. Paint too thick, right? Trying to thin it, but no luck.. Got a Badger anthem airbrush. Pactra Indy Silver...
Can't get it to spray a fine line. Is that the airbrush, paint or me???

Make sure your brush is completely clean inside.. You can thin the paint a bit and see if that helps. Sounds to me that your pressure might be too high. Cobwebs are usually from the paint drying as it leaves the gun. Turn your pressure down to around 20-25psi.

and that it's not thinned enough.. try thinning it a hair and you should not see any webs

Wow Busted, nice job, man! I like the colors you went with, don't see many black and silver jobs!

I also like the wheel/tire combination! Very cool!

Thank's guys. Had 15 to 20 lbs. I'll give the brush a good cleaning before I use it again. Need a lot more practice.

I use a lot of thinner when I spray that stuff. I spray Pactra between 20 and 25 psi depending on what I'm doing and I thin it at about a 1:1 ratio.. sometimes even more thinner than paint. I had that happen the other day with Sprint White. I actually had to use more thinner than paint to keep from spraying cobwebs. Now this is all while using a fine tip, needle, cone combination. Since the atomization is so much finer it dries much faster than if I were to use a medium setup. Although I can't say that with 100% certainty because I havn't spray anything with a medium setup yet. I probably will later today when I do my background color test.

All I gotta say is.....

Even after, I cover 60% of this lid with decals.... I'm not shooting any close-ups!!!


Man, my first ever body looked 100 times better than this sloppy POS I just painted (third ever).

I'll imediately peel the RCNT decal after the photo shoot... I hate to tarnish the good name!!!

Ah, Mr. T, I doubt it's that bad, man! I mean, even if Beason isn't in the contest, you have to figure his lid would look like someone hurled on it anyway!

Just keep in mind, no matter how bad you may think yours comes out, Beason's will always look worse. So you got that going for ya, which is nice!

hey just because i didnt enter doesn't mean I'm the pony!! the one and only body i painted came out looking great, it was a t-maxx sized crowd pleazer. and just plain red.

i just dont have the cash to spend on something that is gonna be tore up from the floor up when i get done with it. hell even my .050 proline body isnt lasting very long.


dont worry mw, one of these days ill get me a new body for my hyper, then YOUR NON PAINTING ASS IS MINE!!

Point made, Beason! Sure, the one body you shot came out great, it was all one color! Christ, even a blind squirrel finds a nut, you dink!

Sure they're going to get tore up! You flip your rigs into standing water then wait to fish them out until you've taken a picture! Doesn't take a real genius to figure out your lids look like you wipped your ass with them!

Damn MW! I thought the one I painted one color looked pretty good. I thought my Savage was pimping!
It had a lid.
Sometimes it's all I can do to get stickers on it before I take it out to bash.

Seriously... Was messing around with my airbrush before work.
This old fart ain't learning poop.
Got the front painted. I put a couple of Jackal stickers on it. That is where I was trying to paint the silver. (supposed to be backed with a light color) Don't care for the stickers. Second set I have bought.

Got 2 different shades of blue. trying to think of a nice fade.......
Got one week.....

Ah Digger, just messing around with Beason a bit! Truth be told, I've yet to see anyone paint a truly bad lid! I'm like you, Digger, I have an airbrush set and I am struggling to learn how to use the darn thing! Obviously, this kid was not blessed with ANY artistic abilities!

my little one has a date with a babysitter on Saturday. I have a good 7 hours to myself. Should be enough time to finish my practice sheet and my lid. I don't think I can compete with some of the talent here but I think I got a shot at an "honerable mention".

I still have to post pics of mine. I am all finished. Andy has the decals in the mail so I have to wait until I have those to post pics. Hey judges, just in case something happens and the decals get lost in the mail and I don't have them by the deadline, can I still enter the contest? Not that I think something is going to happen, I was just curious. You know just case.

Hey Digger, I am sure I have the WTF class locked up. So far all that have posted have blown me out of the water! LOL Take care.
