I searched and found nothing...

I can't seem to get my temps up there 190F is the highest i seem to get.

Turn up the rpm's and lean the engine 200F. After that hit the trigger and car shuts down. (to lean?) Is there another way to get temps up?

MT2... 20 percent fuel. Cold glow plug.

Is your clutch dragging? Do you have drag brakes set up?

I had mine set with a little dragbrake, and it caused the engine to shut off when returning back to neutral (from a dragging clutch).

Make sure your geartrain moves freely when the engine is shut off and the linkage is at neutral.

About the only thing I can tell you (aside from the above), is to tough it thru. It only gets better after the engine frees' up.

Everything is moving freely.

Could it be the outside temp? Its only 40F - 50F outside.

You can probably get better performance out of a medium plug with 20% fuel, but that's not the problem. How sure are you your gauge is accurate? Are you reading it after a full five minutes or so of running?

I'm using the DuraTrax flashpoint reader. I'm taking readings after 5mins, 10mins and just before tank runs out.

I had to go to LHS today for some parts and they said some engines run different. A little cold isnt bad.

They also told me to try the #8 glow plug, which i am going to. ( bought 2 of 'em) as soon as glow plug charging is done.

BTW... if I charged the glow plug charger overnight, how long should that charge last? It didnt last to long today, flooded engine and then the glow plug charger died on me. Its only 2 or 3 weeks old!!

The batteries take forever to charge in glow ignitors. They should last a while as long as your not leaving it on for long. As far as your plug, that just doesn't sound right. Did they sell you an OS 8 plug? Those are medium-hot plugs. I'm not sure what mill you have in your truck (.18 I think?) but you should be running a hot. Also try the pinch test. If you can keep it running til it warms up pull up and pinch the fuel line, your engine should die around 4-5 seconds. Any longer, it's too rich, any less and it's too lean. Your LHS is right to a point with engines are all different but 190 is just too low.

It says to charge the glow plug ignitor for 8 hours which I did (overnight).

The mill is a .15, The stock glow plug it came with was a cold plug HPI 5.

They sold me a OS A3 ( hot plug) yesterday and that lasted 1 start ( spring was all the way into plug). So I'm trying the OS 8 today.

Just didnt think there would be these many headaches in a hobby!

Jet is right about the plug. If you have the MT2, I have one of those also but it has the .16 mill and I use the Mcoy MC-59. That is the plug for those Cen motors. I don't have any problems with it win it's cold or hot. Good plug Try one of those and let us know. I think you will be glad ya did.

Well that engine is gone!

I now have the 18SS. Which plug do you reccomend for that engine. I have the stock one in it now but bought some OS A3

That should be fine for a SB. A3's are great plugs. They always seem to last a long time for me.

Yeah, another vote the the A3s. They have served me quite well. Also, the Mccoy plugs are pretty good <Forget if its MC-69 or MC-59?>.
Just make sure that you dont rev too high or leave the ignitor on the plug once it's running or you'll be eating through plugs like crazy! I own a NMT and I also suggest that you get yourself a good, strong, reliable ignitor. :2cents:
