Emptied my tank today and found a small crack in it. No wonder my fuel line was getting so many air bubbles! Anyone know a good way to seal a small crack on their fuel tank? Will CA on the crack be ok until I get a new one? This will be a temporary fix of course. Thanks for your help!

Maybe some JB Weld or some other two part epoxy. I would drill holes all the way through the crack so that when you smear the epoxy on it will push into the holes and the epoxy will have something to hold on to. If you have soldering iron you might use it to melt the crack closed and then from the inside drip some CA on the crack. All of this has to be done with the tank completely clean and dry and free of any oil residue. Good luck.............

jb weld wont work for very long,I've tried it.what i did was took a soldering iron and melted the crack togther and added jb weld over that and its still holding up like a champ

Blah is right. JB, epoxies, superglue, CA glue... they all don't stick worth a crap to the plastic that tanks are made out of. Use his suggestion to get you by.

Remove tank, clean with alcohol to get all oils off, make sure it's completely dry (hair dryer) and Shoe Goo it.

Just replace it. Cracked tanks are nothing but headaches. In expensive and less of a headache .

Yup I agree with Diver. If you don't seal it properly you wind up having tuning issues. tanks are cheap. you get that taken care of you are sure to know that things are working properly

It's definitely a sure fix. If you are out playing and it happens what you can do temporarily is shoegoo the crack then shoegoo a piece of flat lexan, like that of a hard plastic case from a pack of batteries, over it.

It happened to me a couple of times early in the day of bashing and it worked fine. Just let the shoegoo have enough time to set up correctly.

I tried to use what I had available to me which was CA and household silicone left over from fixing my kitchen sink. I sanded the crack a little bit and glued a small piece of plastic on the crack. I let the glue dry and then put some silicone on top of that to try and further seal it from bubbles. It worked fine for the 2 tanks I ran. Thanks for all your suggestions and replies. I'll be picking up a new tank this week.
