both my 3.3's like to run around 270 to 290 .....240 is a bit cold for most 3.3 engines ...you want to get it to at least 260, thats the temp that mine starts to come alive ......just try not to get them over 300 to much ... i will get temps of 300 to 310 sometimes but i know my engines can handle short 300+ peaks
I have been trying to get mine above 200 degrees but I am lucky to get 175 I dont get it that is the only 3.3 that does it but it runs great!!!!! not sluggish or anything... my others run at 200-220 and are right on cue i think I have talked to alot of people that has said 220- 240 is what theirs always runs.. I am stille trying to figure out why one of mine wont hit 200 degrees.
you see I always get an odd ball out of the friggen bunch!!!!! like I sadi all my other 3.3's have been over 200 my jato was at 225 my classic is 220 and my first 3.3 on my big maxx was at 240 - 250 and the one that is on it now will only get between 160 - 180 if I lean it anymore it cuts out and I have tried retuning a bunch of times and get the same outcome... I could run the other maxx's with good temps the same weather as the other one and the numbers stay the same almost 70 degree difference... I am going to retear her down and see if I notice anything with the lines carb and everything else to make sure its sealed tight...... any ideas anyone??? not trying to steal the thread so if you have any ideas for me pm me so we dont take up alot of room on Captjw305's thread...
Not a problem with me matt i enjoy the info the reason of the thread i am tring to get my jato tuned and right now its at 200f.yesterday it was at 180 and it ran slugish and wouldnt pop a wheelie but now got it tuned where it run alot better.tommoro gonna bring the temp up to 250 to 260 can't wait to see the differnce i was just checking before i bring it up to that thanks for the help guys
My 3.3 runs cold too, about 190-200ish. Had it up to 290 once,,lost power and started bogging. I haven't hit that mark again since I trimmed the body and added some air holes. I think I got a lemon.
Don't tune strictly to temps. They're a nice guideline, but you need to learn to hear a good tune, and watch for the right amount of smoke. Its a tricky little triangle you have to put together.
I have that chart laminated along with extreme nitros chart. Both are real helpful. I preferr videos though so you can hear what they're saying. I don't tune to temps, just use them as a reference post race mostly. I have had my truck run great and be nowhere near temp. And I have had it on the otherside. In temp range and run crappy. I just think my truck is moody.
that must be my problem too moody r.c. I ould rather think that than something being screwd up l.o.l.. I use that chart alot!!!! and I have used it on the one that runs cold and I get the same temps..... its been really wet here for a few weeks. I wonder if that is not helping out...
