After reading all your posts the next thing I buy will be a Temp gun Which one is best. Thanks.

Any hand-held model should work, I have an infrared one that I got off of eBay for $25 w/shipping. The sensor 'eye' is the exact size of the hole in the cooling head, makes for an easy measurement spot. Search for 'PE1' under the 'Toys & Hobby' section in eBay.

Yeah, then you definitely need to richen it up!

You may want to check the entire drive train for binding. A bad bearing on a wheel axle or anywhere causes more drag than you realize and will jack the engine temp up really fast. A dragging brake, a stick rubbing on an axle or a piece of twine wrapped around something causing binding. When you give your truck a shove with the throttle at idle and the engine off, it should roll a good 3-4 feet on pavement. If it isn't, then I'd look for something causing drag.

That's if richening it up a bit doesn't seem to help.

okay thanks ill see how far it rolls. i think it may be the low speed needle that need adjustment because I'm at a point with the high speed needle where if i turn it one way 1/16th of a turn it boggs out and if i go the other way it overheats
