temp gun help

where do you take the reading with the temp gun? on the top of the cooling head on by the glow plug?

Right on top of the glow plug is the best most accurate spot.

ok well i think something is messed up then because my truck says its running at 300 degrees F at the glow plug but runs great it still has a blue streak coming out of the pipe and every thing any suggestions? thanx

tune by performance, but 300 is pretty high. richen the hsn.

Richen the hsn. Dont tune primarely by temps, just get in the ball park tune by smoke, sound, and performance.
