Does any one have one of these or are they out yet ? How do they compair to the X1CRT and the other high dollar truggies ?:buggy1:

I am awaiting its release as well.....its that one or the Mugen....but I really like the engineering that goes in to Losi stuff.

I know others will rain on that parade....but I am just stating my opinion.

I knew you would pipe in there.........you still love yours as much as the day you married it??

Since you brought it up should I spring for ther prospec package???

Sorry, had to! LOL I've been real happy with and it was the reason I bought the 5R as well. IMO, you don't need the Prospec, only some of Prospec pieces like captured hinge pins, one piece engine mount and the prospec steering ackerman. Eventually the prospec shock towers but they are not a necessity right off the bat. I run with about 9 other guys that all run Mugens. Don't get me wrong, the Losi will probably be decent but I think it will have the same throttle servo issue as the buggy. It's really related to setup and installation of the servo itself but it's a pain in the rears. I wouldn't be so convinced on the 8ight buggy until it proves itself outdoors. Around here it's had some success but it's all indoors. One other thing, the date has slid to the right a couple times now, which is kinda leading me to believe their trying to resolve some issue with it.

Thanks for the response.....Good points all...and I am leaning......you have a PM..

Sorry to be redunant....I can just feel the cash burning a hole in my pocket and I will be gray by the time the eight T gets out and I get it built.

Any as always sound advice........damn it... I hate when you make me do that....;)

If you get the Mooooogen, you will have to fly east and come race with me and the monkey brains!

No that would be kick in the pants!!! :jet:

The local girlie bars would never be the same....not to mention the track we raced on....I would need bumpers :jester:

Ok bringing this up again.

Who has this rig? So far I have heard the throttlw issue being the only problem. I have always loved Mugen but I love Losi's thoughts into the 8IGHT and 8IGHT-T. What do you think of it?

I have rad that it has an aggressive acceleration. That may be good or bad since it may just throw me quicker into the pipes or walls.LOL I want something new.

Experience owners and ones that have driven this please chime in.

Thanks

Jon

all i can say is wow. it handles way better than my crt. i took the engine out of my crt and for some reason it has way more power and my engine temps dropped considerably. by the way, does anyone know how to set up the ofna chrome top starter box on the 8 race roller. i have the 4 shoe clutch, but the hole in the chassis is not big enough. i know about the losi box but people at the track are not that happy with it.

I don't know about the chrome top box but the Truggy box from OFNA(10244) is what I use. Best damn box I've ever had my hands on.

I have heard of people hacking up the opening of the chassis but that is a bit extreme for me. If I can sell my 5T for a decent 8T I will let you know. The only thing I have treid is my friends 8T. He uses the Losi box and says is perfect for both 8B and 8T.

Dirtybird... its puzzling how your CRT engine runs better in the 8T. Maybe since the gearing is different on the 8T?

well it is only the mach 427, so I'm sure every little thing makes a difference. my friend at the track has the 427 in his hell fire and his doesn't make as much power(top or low end) as the 8t with the 427. i know the 8t is lighter, but it has to be the gearing.

8t

I got my 8T about a month ago and the only issue I have had is the thorttle servo. If you like jumping real high it does have a tendency to bend the left rear lower outer control arm shaft/bolt. I have bent two of them so far. But it is a real easy fix. Why it bends the left rear only, I do not know. Maybe it is just my drivin'. :bandit:

Other than that it has been bomb proof. I have been beating on it pretty hard. I am real happy and cannot wait to get the 8b! I have one in the next couple of weeks.:)

The eight-T is off the hook. So far so good, once you get the servos replaced, it just goes and goes. I was even taking on my friend in his brand new 8b and we were pretty much neck and neck (except in the striaghts), but overall I think I beat him because of the driving. I am sure he will surpass me soon enough once he gets his dialed in and get the feel for it. He went from a Revo 3.3 to and Eight. What a difference! (of course):bandit:

Got the Proline set of mounted Bow Tie tires on and did some laps last Sunday. They worked out great.

This is the first run since I changed my clutch bearings and I forgot to loctite the bolt that holds the bell in. ooops. It came loose (but not off) and caused some pre-mature wear on the bell teeth.

Does anyone know what are the best clutch shoes to run. When you look at the race setups online they shoe 2 aluminum shoes and 2 plastic. Any suggestions?:bowtothercnt:
