TC4 Kit Question

I have been looking at the TC4 kits and have seen a huge difference in pricing. from 209.00 to 360.00. What I can't seem to find is a difference in the kits. With the TC3 there are the racers kit, team kit, and FT kit.

Did the price drop on the TC4 and there is only one kit or are there different kits but the sites arent giving an accurate description? I went to AEs site and only saw one configuration.

Just a bit confused.

Hey FE, all I've seen is one version of the kit. I thought one guy told me the FT wasn't going to be out for a while. I saw Ultimate had it for $189 about a month ago. Your just as confused as I was until I talked to the guy there and then saw one of the guys from AE at SoCal when I was in LA a few weeks ago.

as far as i know the factory team version wont be out for awhile just like all there kits they always come out with a stock one then down the road the factory team kit comes out i have seen some tc4 on ebay for about 185.00 if i was to buy a new touring car i would buy the new factory team xray they are just awesome just dont have no where to run them here just my two cents talk to you later

There are two versions of the TC4 out so far. One is the team kit and the other is the RTR. The price difference (for the team kit since it is more readily available) could be caused by two factors: 1. (the obivious) profit.... and 2. the retailer is showing the "retail" price. For example, Associated lists the retail price of the team kit at $369.99 and the RTR at $429.99. No one should pay that much for either, but retailers will let you think they are giving some huge discount by only charging $210 for the team kit while advertising that you are getting a $160 discount.

I am also looking at getting a TC$ but what motor should I run, they race stock motors at the track, also what is a good speedo for a good price (it has to have reverse and reverse lockout) I dont want to spend more than $150 for the motor and speed control but I want to be able to race it.

I picked up mine on Ebay for a steal at 152.00 NIP! How could I pass that up! Built the car and upgraded as I did so, looks great and can't wait to try it out! dougc I used a Futaba MC330CR in my old F/T TC3 they are reasonably priced and have reverse lockout. Use the Monster HP Stock it is a good all around motor if it is a short technical track go with the P2K2 Pro. I have the GTX and C2 based 19T in my TC4. I'm sure there are other good ESCs in that price range check into the LRPs, I would probably stay away from some of the novaks though as they are pretty big compared to the fwd only ESCs they have.
