Which is the better kit?
I've noticed you dont get a motor with the tc3 nitro kit.
Anyone have any advice on how well these cars compare and which is the better kit?

tc3 > rs4 nuff said

Nuff said? What was said?

Anyway, what do you want to do with the car? Race or bash? Both cars are very nice cars, the TC3 is better oriented for racing out of the two. I have a RS4 3 that is hopped up past the point of the SS kit and I love it. I don't race, just parling lot bash, but it has been a great car for me. they both are shaft drive which is great for parking lots, hardcore racers prefer belt drive, but unless you are going to be running nice clean tracks I don't suggest belts, but shafts instead. What parts does your local hobby shop carry parts for? It's nice to be able to pick up a needed part rather than have to order one.

Thanks for the advice. I've read good things about both cars and havent decided on which kit yet. I understand the tc3 has better parts such as nascar brake pads. But the price just for the chassis looks to be near the price of the hpi rs4 trans am kit which comes with a motor.
I know you can get into these things pretty heavy with prices but I'm just searching for a upgradable kit that is durable and also have the option of being competitive in racing too,not only for bashing.
BUT I would really like to fit a .21 BIG BLOCK motor in it at some point in time.
Does anyone know of another kit on the market besides these two that would fit into my catergory?
I just read there are mods out that you can fit a .21 motor in the hpi kit. How much that costs I have yet to find out.
Basically I'm just searching for something that you can do alot with, without having to buy a new kit everytime you want to upgrade things.
Maybe I'm asking too much????
Set me straight if anyone has advice. Newbie at work. :smoke:
What kits does everyone use for competitive racing?

the rs4 is a great basher and is tough as hell but if your looking for a more capable racer out of the box then the ntc3 is the way to go. dont get me wrong both are great rides but the tc3 wins this one hands down as far as adjustability/setup for racing. as for a basher and not a racer then go with the rs4 but if u see yourself racing in the future then go with the Ntc3 or something better but that will cost ya more Ca$h

Wolfpack Radicals makes a .21 conversion kit for the RS4, I don't know off hand if anyone makes one for the ntc3 or not. If you plan on racing you will ber required in most cases to run a .12 anyway, and you won't be able to run the .21. I have had a RS4 3 for a few years now, I don't race it but I have had a blast with it in parking lots, it has held up very well.

thanks guys, ill have to do some judging the wallet and options again.
I like both kits so I guess Ill have to weigh the choices.

You should check out the new RS4 3 18SS. That looks like a great ride. :2cents:

Ah I was looking at the 18ss kit but heard the rs4 3 type ss has a faster motor. Can anyone elaborate?
