You need it to run your reciver and servos . The 4 aa batterys suck

Yep, and just to add, they run out of juice very fast so you're always replacing them. Plus, the servos aren't getting enough voltage like they should to perform at their best.

With a 5-cell rechargable pack, you could go probably over an hour of driving before you need to charge the pack.

do u reckon the NIMH recharbles would do ?

So how about performnce parts wat do i need besiseds the engin cause i think the .15 is good enough ?

The best gain your could ever get is swapping the stock engine. Look at an o.s. 18 cv-r or 12tr, both are within your price range, with change to spare.

For the battery packs, don't get the AA rechargables, get a prebuilt 5-cell flatpack, it's MUCH better. You'll need a wall charger at the minimum.

so completly new to dis but like arnt 18s bigger so its faster then 12s right ?

Not necessarily, pretty much the only 18 that might be faster than any 12 is the o.s. 18tz. But there's a bunch of full out .12 size race engines that'd do circles around pretty much any other engine.

W/ touring cars it's more RPMs than HP and Torque...the cars are so light HP is not really a factor....I say if you like the speed of your car then look into options improving the handling and making it lighter first...but definately get the batt pack and if you can see what mods you can do to your current drivetrain...ie gear ratio changes to see what you like, tuned pipe, stronger drivetrain for when you do get a better engine....if it's your first nitro then I suggest learning that engine first so if you blow it up you don't feel bad, and you'll have the excuse to get a better one then....
