has anybody ever seen tank treads on a nitro truck? :tank: i was just looking at the trucks with skis on the front and i thought treads would be cool on the back...or even all the way around. if anybody has any pics or any links, please share, i wanna see 'em :)

Do a search through the forums...this has been discussed before. I beleive there a guy onthe board named RamTech that is in the process of developing them. I might have him confused with someone else but I could swear it was him.

i dont think its possible without some serious custom fabrication of some differential parts and extra servos to do treads all around...

but the just the rear is quite possible, they make kits for ATVs that convert them into snowmobiles with 2 treads on the rear wheels

I'm sure it's possible, just a lot of fabrication and time at the drawing board as well as the work bench. It has been done for 1:1 4x4 trucks, I guess it can be applied to r/c's as well.

Or just get one of the Tamiya 1/16th tank kits. I've been working on the Tiger I for about a year now and it is pretty cool. If ya want a tank, build a tank. There are also some guys on the net that make bigger tanks with paintball guns.

One of these days, I'll figure out the Sandtraxx idea. I haven't had time to figure out the tracks. Once I find a good track to use, the rest is easy. If anyone can find a 3" wide by 16" long double sided track, I would do the rest and give them the first prototype. There has to be some industrial type people here that work at a rubber belt manufacturer??

A RAMTech-RC, I work at International Truck and Engine where they make the Powerstroke Deisel for Ford trucks and they have all kinds of tracks that they use over in the foundry. Let me go over there since I am at work right now and see what I can't come up with. If I find anything I will PM you.:cheerful:
